Gecko Lodge Fiji

2 night stay This is a small place with three rooms. I had room 2 which was a decent size and had the necessary facilities...aircon, fan, fridge, tv. Everything thing works well. It is clean. The location is convenient and walkable to Savusavu town. The property is raised up from the road and there are steps up to access, which might make it difficult for someone reliant on a wheelchair. Their is a small kitchen preparation area. You will have to either prepare of go out for meals as there is no onsite restaurant although with notice i think the owner may try and assist.

Ana and Esther were so lovely and friendly and went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and safe ! I was given an extra 1.5 hrs to check out due to my flight time. The view of the water and mountains is beautiful & the garden of the property is lovely The room was spacious and had been Renovated. There is a communal kitchen to use which is an added bonus ! Savusavu town is ok with lots of restaurants offering local, Indian and Chinese type foods. I do prefer basic Fijian food - for one night it was fine - next time I will cook myself I recommend this property to anyone, especially a woman travelling alone as you will feel very safe here ! My husband, our two sons in their early twenties and I spent two night in this beautiful, clean, and conveniently located place. We were lucky to be first guests in the lodge which reopened after being closed for over two years. The owner was very helpful and friendly. He arranged for our transportation, helped us to plan which places to visit in the area, and introduced us to Ana, an amazing local guide who also offers heavenly massages. We stayed in a room with ocean view and we truly enjoyed watching ocean sunsets from our balcony. The spacious room had two queen beds and one twin bed, dining table and a little kitchen with a small fridge. It comes with its own big bathroom and air conditioning. There is a bigger communal kitchen on the property together with outside dining area. The whole property is beautifully maintained and our room was absolutely spotless.

This budget friendly hotel is clean, comfortable, and convenient. It is walking distance to town, bus, ferry, and several restaurants. Anna the host was very helpful and accommodating. Room was exceptionally clean and had coffee and tea in the spacious kitchenette. We stayed in Room 1 with a beautiful deck overlooking the bay. Great A/C, too! Highly recommend.

My wife and I stayed here while in savusavu for 3 days. Beautiful property, very clean! The host Ana and everyone on the property is very kind and extremely helpful and gracious! Ocean is right across the street if you want to snorkel, the town is maybe a 15 minute walk or a short taxi. Was only about $7 taxi ride from the airport

We’re volunteers for Engineers Without Borders and on assignment in remote portion of Buca Bay. Each weekend we come to SavuSavu for re-supply and R&R. We bumped into Gecko lodge by accident when our regular spot jacked up their prices to insane levels; We are so glad we found Gecko! Jeremy is our host and you could not ask for a nicer, friendly, accommodating person. We had a medical scare and had to extend our stay, and Jeremy worked with us to allow us more time to deal with our situation. The rooms (I’ve stayed in all of them, I think) are beautifully decorated, simple in design, clean as a whistle, and have a refrigerator so we can actually enjoy a cold beverage!! Oh, and they have hot water, too?! Yes, they do! We are on our second weekend stay as I write this, and will stay again next week as our final night in the area. There is a clean and well stocked outdoor kitchen, which we took full advantage of to enjoy the cool am views of the bay. Tea service with kettle are in each room. Finally, if you just cannot take the heat, turn on the AC, it works really well. I cannot imagine lodging anywhere else!
