Whale Island Resort

A very nice relaxing and quiet island. We have enjoyed our three days on this nice resort, an idyllic place! Very cosy bar and terras with good cocktails, fruitjuices and a great view! The food is excellent with a set menu of 5 courses vietnameze specialties. The snorkeling in the bay is quite good, not for corals but there is a lot of different fishes. Many thanks to the friendly service of all the staff!

We stopped here for 2 nights as part of a group cycling from Ho Chi Minh to Hanoi. The ferry across takes about 20 minutes. Lovely island with I think no more than 35 guests allowed. Rooms are all the same but good, toiletries, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities are provided. Rooms do t have air con but there is a ceiling fan and mosquito net for the bed. We had no issues with being too hot or bitten. You can hire snorkelling equipment, kayaks and there is a small catamaran. Sun loungers with cushions and beach towels provided. As others have said mind the sea urchins, which aren’t an issue once your swimming. Massage service available, 45 minutes for around £12. Not the best (in my opinion) but others liked it. The food was great, we had a 5 course set menu so tried dishes we probably wouldn’t normally have. The staff are friendly..

Absolutly great choice for relaxation by the sea and enjoy the weather. The staff is extremely attentive and quick, the manager is super helpful, helped us getting flights and after a lost key accident in the sea! Canoeing in the sunset is a must!

The staff was incredibly friendly and accomedating, even heped us with problems with our vietjet flight. Unfortunately the water wss murky due to weather, so the manager didnt charge us for the hotel provided snorkling trip, really nice gesture. One gripe is that room didnt have proper AC, the place is big on eco friendliness.

For those who seek a disconnect from their daily hectic lives; this is the place to be! A beautiful combination of romantic bamboo housing, excellent service oriented staff, good food, palmtrees, your own island, lots of sunshine and various activities like snorkeling if you wish ... What else do you need?

In one word: paradise!! We stayed 4 nights at Whale Island and enjoyed every second of it. The resort is amazing. It is right at the beach. No more than 15 steps from our bed to the ocean. And especially in the morning it is very nice snorkling right at the resort. Also the snorkling trips organized by the resort are very cool. We saw much beautiful coral and fish. It is a shame that there is also plastic in the ocean and on the banks of the island though. But traveling Vietnam for 3 weeks and you’ll see it everywhere. It is a nationwide issue and resort like Whale Island, with more eye for the environment are part of the solution we’d say. The people of the resort spent a lot of time picking up trash and taking care of the coral and ocean at their doorstep. Besides all the swimming and snorkling, the food is very tasty as well. The staff is friendly and the bungalows can’t give more beach-vibe than this. Truly a paradise and big highlight for us in our visit to Vietnam.
