Hotel Kasteel Bloemendal

Nice hotel good location great lobby and near from Aachen I recommend it

It's priced to set heightened expectations and Kasteel Bloemendal certainly exceeded even those. We had booked dinner but were running late and called reception to ask if the reservation could be pushed back. No problem and we finally arrived 10 minutes before the latest table booking time. The receptionist, who gave a perfect welcome, immediately contacted the restaurant (without us prompting her) to push out the reservation yet again to give us more time to settle in and freshen up. Room, the Tower Suite, was perfect as was dinner and breakfast. Highly recommended!

We had a beautiful room looking into the back garden. Excellent breakfast with plenty of variety. The grounds are amazing with a lovely fountain and walking paths. Great hiking close by. The Main Street is around the corner with nice restaurants and cafes.

We stayed in a comfort room as we were travelling with dogs and were pleased to be given a ground floor room with a small veranda. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a well equipped bathroom and separate shower. I missed having a bathrobe available, as it's not the sort of thing you pack unless you're staying for a week or so. We struggled to order food in English from the app. Breakfast was excellent.

This was our first stay ever at a vd Valk hotel and I start with the positive things. 1) Staff at the lobby and the breakfast very friendly and helpfull. 2) When we arrived we got an other room after a complaint without any problem. What disappointed us strongly were the following. 1) We got a room where the carpet all over had black smudges which looked really dirty. 2) The bed in the new room was on the side facing to step out like a slide at a holiday park. It was worn out by the" heavy weights" over time and never repalced. I fixed this problem temporarely myself by turning the very thick second mattrass over. 3) My wife and I were not able to watch our own old digitized pictures and short video's (TV has an USB port) because the television terminated everything in such that we even could not watch TV at all. Watching only TV was restored by a very helpfull staff member. 4) Between my bed and the wall were a lot of big and thick parts of clocked together dust. (see pictures) These rooms stay very dark even with all "lights"turned on and by accident I noticed this because I used my flashlight in the night. 5) Vd Valk send us by e-mail a voucher for a welcome drink which did not specify any period of validity. When were thirsty the last day we decided to use it and went to the lobby and showed this voucher and the answer was that it was only valid on arrival. When I told the lady that this voucher did not mentioned anything about it she then told us to get a cup of coffee where we just had breakfast 1 hour before. This first acquaintance (in Dutch kennismaking?) with vd Valk hotels was ice cold and for us never more. So to say, our first and last.

Wir waren mit einer 60-köpfigen, gemischten Lions-Club-Reisegruppe aus Frankreich und Deutschland 3 Tage im Kasteel Bloemendal. Bereits bei der Ankunft waren alle Lions bezaubert von dem schönen Gebäude und seinem schmiedeeisernen Entree. Hinein ins Gebäude zur Zimmerverteilung. Es ging sehr zügig und stets freundlich voran, an der Rezeption. Das Personal war zugewandt-freundlich und hatte immer ein nettes Wort für die Gäste übrig. Am Abend des ersten Tages hatten wir einen geplanten Sektempfang und anschließend ein gemeinsames Abendessen im Refektorium. Der Service war ausgezeichnet und das Essen von bester Qualität. Es ist mir ein wirkliches Geheimnis, wie die Küche 60 Steaks à la Minute mit gleichem, perfekten Garpunkt, saftig, rosa und weich, auf die Tische bringen konnte. Das war Spitzenleistung! Frühstück war exquisit, alles da, alles frisch, tolles Brot, Brötchen in hell oder grau, Croissants, fluffiges Rührei, Würstchen, krosser Speck, Lachs, Säfte, Sekt, nichts fehlte, alle Wünsche waren abgedeckt. Am Abend ein 5 Gänge Gala-Menü und erneut eine Superleistung der Küche und der ausgezeichneten Servicecrew. Die Tische waren festlich eingedeckt, unsere vorbereiteten Tischkarten und Speisekarten waren auf den 8 Tischen akkurat nach unserer Tischordnung gesetzt und vor dem Eingang zum Refektorum war die Sitzordnung für alle Gäste auf einer Staffelei ausgestellt, so dass niemand seinen Platz suchen musste. Die Küche schickte alles auf den Punkt zubereitet und genau so wurde auch serviert - toll! Die Zimmer waren sehr schön und geräumig, das Housekeeping macht einen klasse Job, alles war blitzsauber und picobello. alle Gäste - besonders auch die französischen Freunde - waren einfach nur begeistert von diesem schönen Haus mit diesen tollen Mitarbeitern. Viele sagten, dass sie mit Familie und Freunden zurückkommen werden und die nähere Umgebung erkunden wollen. Natürlich auch die Stadt Aachen, deren Innenstadt in kürzester Zeit erreichbar ist. Kasteel Bloemendal, Management, Rezeption, Housekeeping, Servicecrew, Chef de Cuisine und Brigade de Cuisine - ein Riesen Kompliment und danke für diese Superleistung - Chapeau!

Wat een schitterende ambiance, mooie tuin om in te wandelen, prachtig en uitgebreid terras en een hele mooie, schone, goed ingerichte kamer en ook aan de hond was gedacht. Zeer vriendelijke ontvangst en begeleiding alle dagen en een zeer uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet, inclusief bubbels, Limburgse vlaai en alles wat je maar kunt bedenken dat bij een ontbijt hoort. Ook een prachtige uitvalsbasis voor de omgeving (Vaals, Maastricht en Drielandenpunt). Kortom zeer voor herhaling vatbaar!!!
