Hotel Royal Hillcrest

Mmt charged me 10528 for two nights without any food- as i found, that was daylight robbery as walk in guests were being charged 3500 per night. Secondly, the resort had zero amenities for the kind of price that they were charging. The bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan, so it would remain wet. The only thing provided in the name of toiletries were packets of cheap soap- the kind you would find in very basic accomodation which wouldn't cost a third of what hillcrest cost us. Couldn't even get a hot water bag. The cook didn't know anything apart from makig aloo parathas. There were only two people managing the hotel- the actual management was completely absent during our stay and of 5 times we called, picked up the phone only once. I understand bagori is a small village and some of the staff must have taken leave for diwali but then why was the hotel open in the first place? and that too charging over 5k for just a place to sleep? terrible waste of money- never staying there again!

This hotel is promoted as a luxury property but it is important to moderate your expectations of what luxury is at approx 8000ft above sea level. You have to park outside Bagori village and walk to the hotel (a short distance, but travel light anyway). We found no wi-fi; in fact, only Jio and Airtel networks work here. Neither was there a telephone or electronic safe in the room. But what the hotel did provide was a tolerably clean room with attached bathroom. The room was equipped with an electric kettle, had comfortable bedding and the duvet and comforters were warm and cozy even in the last days of the December winter. The place seemed to be severely short-staffed but the friendly and hardworking team of caretaker-cook Kuldeep, Shailendra and kitchen boy Santosh held the place together. They provided delicious homecooked meals and also catered to the requests of all guests, whether it be for snacks, heaters or bonfires. I must especially thank Kuldeep since I am gluten-intolerant and he accommodated my dietary needs by making ragi rotis for me (I had carried the flour with me.) All in all, it was quiet and comfortable stay made wonderful by the hospitality of Kuldeep and company.

The Royal Hillcrest is located beautifully in Bogari Village. The rooms are spacious, nicely done in wood and quite clean. The walk in the village, just outside is amazing. But there is much to be desired as far as the upkeep is concerned. The rooms need to be cleaned every day. Only the quilt was folded in the name of housekeeping! They were reluctant to turn on the generator during the evening when there was no electricity as it is costly they said, leaving the guests in the dark and cold ! TVs in the rooms are dummies The staff has a lot to learn as far as professionalism goes. But their friendly behaviour compensated for it. Akash who is in charge was very helpful in getting our trip organised. Kuldeep the cook was always ready to help with hotspot ( Vodafone doesn’t work here. And there is no WiFi). Hari and Sushil were there at a call. The food was simple home cooked meals, delicious and refreshing. Overall our stay was comfortable and cosy. But a lot more needs to be done to come up to the expectations of the modern day traveller. Wishing it all the best in the future

Great infrastructure and location but service and maintenance not worth of price. Food is good like home food but service and hospitality not worth of price...cleaniless not maintained by staff and staff were not professional.

Hotel don't have power back, nor having good kitchen. Their service was not at all upto mark. I can tell waste of money. I am giving 2. 5 rating.

Hotel was maintained good, service of staff was very satisfactory and location was awesome👍
