Cacao Río Celeste

My friends and I really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Cacao! The room was perfectly clean and it felt like I was staying at someone's home with all the hand crafted artwork and finishes. The homemade breakfast in the mornings was a perfect start to our days of adventuring at the nearby volcanos and hiking spots. We were also offered a guided tour of the local animals (sloths, frogs, and tapiers) and that was a highlight of the trip. I would highly recommend a stay at this family owned hotel!

Had a great stay at Hotel Cacao. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms were very clean. The breakfast was delicious and included homemade tortillas, fresh fruit, and rice and beans prepared by Lorena and Grace. The outside of the hotel has beautiful plants and flowers. We took a nature tour with Johnny who was very good at spotting sloths, frogs, birds, and other animals. The hotel is in a great location between Tenorio Volcano National Park and Miravalles Jorge Manuel Dengo National Park. I would definitely stay here again!

When arrived Johnny welcomed us very friendly and showed us around. Very large room with good a/c, a great shower and nice chairs on the balcony with view on the garden and mountains. Kitchen/breakfast outside/covered area surrounded by trees with flowers and many type of birds visiting. Fridge can be used for own drinks, which can be bought in the various supermarkets in the Main Street on walking distance. Johnny is a real expert (he loves showing you) in spotting birds/sloths and frogs. The latter ones in the garden pond could be seen early evening with some flashlight support. Breakfast is in the lovely cosy kitchen area and prepared by 2 friendly ladies. The typical Costa Ricain breakfast, with fresh watermelon juice, fresh melon, pineapple and again watermelon fruit and home made strawberry jam on nice self baked bread. All in a very relaxed atmosphere. Special tours can be arranged by Johnny. Tapir -, Sloths -, Hummingbirds - or other birds tour. All is possible. Many nice restaurants on walking distance. Try Cafe Semilla for a coffee or a lunch and La Terrazzo for a nice dinner. We loved hotel Cacao in Bijaguas and it’s people.

Such a lovely place! Very unassuming remarkable staff! The manager Johnny is so kind and attentive and helpful. He arranged taxis and tours for us. The breakfast included with the room is homemade By a wonderful cook Loraina. She is wonderful and accommodating. She fixed us handmade tortillas and switched to making corn at our request. I don’t know why this places isn’t booked to capacity . Like all of Biaqua it is quiet and lovely full of surprise gems if you take the time.

Heerlijk rustig hotel met grote kamer, zitje buiten en heerlijk ontbijt met Costa Ricaanse dingen, pannenkoekjes, toast met vers gemaakte jam, eieren, vers fruit en heerlijke koffie! We kwamen ca. 12.00 uur al aan en konden de kamer al in! Heerlijk thee en koffie faciliteiten én een grote ijskast, heel fijn! In Bijagua heerlijk gegeten bij de pizzeria en La Dante! Kortom voelden ons zeer welkom in Cacao. Nb erg aardige manager en gids Johnny die ons s’avonds mee t forest in nam om toucans, spinnen, slangen en sloths te spotten! Voor herhaling vatbaar!!

Leuk, eenvoudig hotel met grote (en kleinere) kamers. De service van Johnny was top. Zijn Engels ook trouwens! Er is een mooie buitenplek waar we zelf gezelschap kregen van een toekan dichtbij. Het ontbijt is geweldig, costaricaans, met veel zorg bereid en wordt ook in de (overdekte) tuin geserveerd. Winkels en leuke restaurantjes op 5-10 min loopafstand. Tenorio park op 20 min rijden. Aanrader!

Propriétaire très gentil et aux petits soins pour ses clients : nous avons été surclassés dans une chambre avec clim ce qui faisait un bien fou en raison de la chaleur et des moustiques. Grande chambre avec un grand lit. Petit patio à l'étage devant la chambre. Décoration sympathique et salle de petit-déjeuner originale. De bonnes informations sur le parc du volcan Tenorio qui est à 15 mn de route bitumée. Le plus, la petite sortie pour voir les grenouilles autour des petites mares : quatre espèces différentes, plus qu'avec notre sortie payante, dont la fameuse rainette à yeux rouges. Après j'y suis allé tout seul pour faire des photos. Top ! Très bon petit déjeuner. Bon wifi. Un peu de difficultés à se faire comprendre par la dame en service au petit déjeuner. Un peu cher malgré tout.

Nous nous sommes arrêtés pour couper la route. C'est trės propre et calme. Johnny nous a bien orientés pour les restos et activités. Le soir il nous a promenés autour de l'hotel pour nous montrer les grenouilles. Le Matin, un bon dejeuner costaricain nous attendant a la cuisine extérieure.

Hôtel simple, Propre, petit déjeuner costaricain , servi sous un abri très rustique ..... Calme, Le matelas a du vécu ..... ( a changer) Bon accueil, bon wifi, bon conseil pour les visites et restaurants
