Hotel in zona Amicus Travel Mongolia, Ulan Bator

I stayed there over 7 nights. On the first day I arrived at 12 noon and the check-in time was 2.00 pm. After a 13 hour flight and car ride from the airport to the hotel I just wanted to get into the room and have a hot shower. Usually in all other cities and hotels in Asia, they would have allowed me to check in earlier if they had a room. In this case, they had a room but wanted to charge me the rate of 30% for that two hour stay. I paid for it as I was in no mood to argue over it and as my Mongolian business partners were with me and I did not want to cause a scene. The hotel toilet had a smell from the drainage pipe and they could not clear the smell even after I had complained. The service staff was generally pleasant although some of the restaurant staff need some further training. At the Chinese restaurant when I asked one of the waiter to change to a private room after being seated at the normal dining hall which was noisy, the waiter replied that he was busy. And asked me to go to the reception. Perhaps they are still a bit rough at the edges. Also, the 24 hour room service does not exist as is promoted in their brochure in the room. I had to go to the front desk and then I was directed to go to the coffee house to make my order. I asked why nobody picked up the 24 hour room service line and the front desk asked me what number I dialed. I replied 3222 as was in the brochure in the room and he told me it was 3150. I told him its 3222 as per the room brochure but he insisted it was 3150. I went back to my room to double check after placing the order at the coffee house and it was 3222 in the brochure. So either they have a wrong print or they have not updated with a new number. I was seated in the cafe many times and I noticed a gentleman who would go up to sign for a coffee at the cafe. I assumed he must be a senior staff of the hotel. If he was indeed a senior staff I thought he would be friendly enough to smile to the guests at the cafe and assume some if not all the guests are also guests of the hotel.

We had two stays, one for one night and one for three after attending the Eagle Festival in western Mongolia. Arrival and check in was smooth and efficient. The front desk was able to hold a bag for us for the three days we spent away at the festival. We had breakfast included which was an easy way to start each day. The Nadam restaurant had Oktoberfest going on the night we arrived and we ate there again one other night. Service there was a bit slow to absent for both nights. The rooms were pleasant, roomy and clean. Beds were comfortable and there was a soft and a firm pillow for each person. We didn't have any special requests although I'm sure they would have been accommodated. The showers were roomy and water pressure/temp control very good. Wi-Fi was stable and strong throughout the hotel property. No password so connecting was easy. The hotel complex is located in a very convenient location which is great once you're there but can take some time coming from outside (tours, airport etc). We were able to walk to most attractions from the hotel and dine/drink in the area within walking distance. Overall pleasant staff, comfortable rooms and convenient location. Well worth considering while staying in UB.

Bayangol is really a mixed bag. I did not book it; it was provided for me as part of a fishing tour. I spent one night there on the way in and one on the way out. The hotel has a fantastic location right near the center of UB. It is easy to walk to Sukhbaatar Square and all the things around there. The hotel itself is a bit dated, with some parts updated and some not. My room on the first night was quite old looking and smelled like an ash tray. My room on the way back was nice and new looking and smelled fine. The breakfast buffet is ok. All in all it was an ok place to spend one night on each end of a trip, but I would not book it myself if I were staying in UB.

One of my best experiences talking about hostels. Super clean, amazing host, good located and friendly owner. I recommend to go there if you want to have a nice stay in town with an affordable price and amazing comfort.

Il mio soggiorno all'Holiday Inn Ulaanbaatar è stato un'esperienza mista, quindi il mio rating a tre stelle. Ci sono stati aspetti del mio soggiorno che erano lodevoli, mentre altri lasciano molto da desiderare. Iniziiamo con i positivi: le camere erano eccellenti - comode, pulite e ben attrezzate. Inoltre, il personale dell'hotel era generalmente amichevole e cortese. Questi fattori hanno contribuito a creare un'atmosfera piacevole durante il nostro soggiorno. Tuttavia, alcuni aspetti del nostro soggiorno non riuscivano a soddisfare le aspettative, il processo di check-in era particolarmente problematico, nonostante la prenotazione di un prezzo che includeva il colazione, inizialmente ci fu detto che non era così. Dovevamo andare nella misura in cui forniamo una prova di screenshot dei nostri dettagli di prenotazione per correggere la questione - una situazione che era lontana dall'ideale e che ha in qualche modo messo in pericolo l'impressione iniziale del nostro soggiorno. Inoltre, il servizio di lavaggio era eccessivamente costoso e l’incapacità dell’hotel di trovare una soluzione a questo problema era deludente. La politica di prezzi era basata su un elemento e non su un chilogrammo, il che ha comportato un costo proibitivamente elevato. Ciò è stato particolarmente sfavorevole per un soggiorno di lungo periodo. In conclusione, mentre l'Holiday Inn Ulaanbaatar offre alloggi confortevoli e un servizio in generale amichevole, le questioni incontrate durante il check-in e con il servizio lavanderia sono stati notevoli svantaggi. Queste aree di miglioramento potrebbero migliorare notevolmente l'esperienza degli ospiti. In quanto tale, il mio rating globale è di tre stelle.

Le camere e le bagni sono molto spaziose e pulite. Soprattutto le finestre davanti alla stanza vi danno un senso aperto, quindi non è stufa nella stanza. Il colazione è solo giusto da mangiare! È meglio non aspettare molto perché è pronto. Ma kimchi, verdure e alcuni frutti sono preparati Ci sono un negozio di comodità sul primo piano, che è adatto per cose semplici o cibo. Il personale del lobby può parlare coreano in qualche misura, quindi sembra che la comodità dei viaggiatori coreani sarà elevata.

Il centro di Ramada UB City è senza dubbio uno dei migliori hotel della città. Ciò che mi piace di più su questo hotel è che è collegato a un grande centro commerciale con molti negozi e centri alimentari - così conveniente per shopping e cena. Hansang Restaurant e Cafe Retime sono anche parte dell'edificio dell'hotel, e entrambi sono stati grandi! Le camere sono super comode (la che avevo mostrato una vista panoramica della città UB - incantevole), e la doccia è enorme!! Infine, il personale mi ha aiutato a organizzare trasferimenti aeroportuali e noleggio auto per il giorno, dove ho dovuto vedere il bellissimo Parco Nazionale Terelj. In generale, ho avuto un soggiorno memorabile qui - sicuramente consigliere!

Il soggiorno era medio. Il personale del dipartimento frontale parla bene inglese. Ho visitato alla fine di gennaio. La stanza era troppo calda per il mio piacere, quindi il mio sonno non era troppo buono. Il condizionamento dell'aria non funziona in inverno e la riduzione della temperatura richiede per sempre. L'unico modo per ridurre il raffreddamento è aprire la finestra, ma con la qualità dell'aria molto cattiva - non consigliabile. Ho ordinato servizio in camera da un posto irlandese, ma il ragazzo non parla bene inglese, quindi invece di zuppa di pompino ho preso una zuppa di crema di carne. La cosa che non mi piaceva e che la mia notte di notte ha rovinato i miei piani, quando ho organizzato un incontro, era che il colazione che doveva iniziare alle 7 era di 30 minuti di ritardo. Se dite alle persone che è a partire dalle 7:00, per favore, siate d’accordo. Non c'è nessun altro denunciante.Forse è solo l'odore di carbone in tutta la città, così anche nelle stanze, ma credo sia solo me, un visitatore che non è usato per farlo.

I usually hold off before posting these things but I'm hot and irritable so here it is and you can sort through it if you want to know details. The air conditioner was broken in my room and he seemed to be saying that in all the rooms they were broken in some way. Either blowing air but it wasn't cold or cold but hardly blowing and besides he couldn't change my room. So while I'm doing the review, you can't get hot water in the shower. It gets briefly almost there and then cools. So no way to take a long shower or a hot bath. There is a lamp but it's unplugged. Because there is only two outlets next to each other in one place. When I unplugged The TV etc and plugged in the cute lamp it turned out the lamp flashes briefly and then doesn't work. The bulb? Oh, and then Wi-Fi stopped working and said it was start again when network quality improved. And someone had made noodles in the hot pot and it was partially scrubbed but not completely so my tea (not provided) tasted faintly of chicken soup. Other than Wi-Fi, hot water (drinking and bath) and air conditioning it was quaint and nice. Bathrobes and monogram towels. A down duvet in down pillows. In the mattress you can kind of feel the springs but they seem to have the same mattress everywhere from the hotels down to hostels so I don't know that good ones are available. And everything was clean including the carpet but did smell a little of smoke. So it's kind of like a four-star hotel and in some ways the same as a cheap guest house. And inexpensive by American standards. So even though it costs double or more then the guest houses it still cost less than a Motel 6. The best thing is you can walk to the Palace of the Dohg Khan, restaurants, grocery stores, etc and it is a place where, as my cab driver ”people in Ulaabatar live, not a tourist place”. And easy to get to because you don't have to fully enter city traffic. And I had a lively view of the real life going on from my seventh story window.

We had a fantastic couple of weeks in Ulaanbaatar and chose the Ibis Styles Polaris on the recommendation of our daughter-in-law, a local. It is located on the airport side of the city so you can avoid the last hour of traffic congestion should you choose to be based in the central business district. We asked for a room with a view of the countryside but were upgraded to a suite which was on the north western corner and had both views across the valley that took in the city and views of the green hills. Our daughter also stayed at the Ibis and was also upgraded to a suite on the southern side with great views of the surrounding green hills. If you miss out on the views and opt for the breakfast inclusion, there are both excellent views and a great buffet breakfast selection. All of our encounters with Ibis personnel were hassle free. From the reception to dining and cleaning personnel, they were always helpful and genuinely pleasant to talk to. Language differences were not an issue. We were visiting for our son's wedding and we had the bride and groom book in to celebrate with us. And to top off a perfect stay, the staff arranged a surprise birthday cake for my wife, whose birthday was during the stay. Top marks all round Ibis.
