Hotel in zona Amgalan Station, Ulan Bator

This hotel does not meet the standards of other Kempinskis. My family and I travel a lot, like A LOT, and we've been to many Kempinski hotels. The problems started with our booking, which we made directly through the hotels' website (not a 3rd party). The booking states a 12:00 check in, but the hotel told us this was a mistake and their check in time is 2:00 pm. They allowed us to check in at noon without a fee, but it took series of emails in advance. We also booked the breakfast meal package through the website. On our first morning in the breakfast lounge, we were told we didn't get breakfast because we didn't have the meal package. Once again, I had to pull out my reservation receipt and prove (in front of other guests) that we had paid for the breakfast. They of course accepted the receipt and realized they made an error, but it was another hassle we shouldn't have had to deal with. The day before our departure, we requested the hotel have a cab ready for us to catch our early flight (we needed to leave the hotel around 3:30 am). The young man behind the desk indicated he would do so and that we could expect a 100,000 tugrik (about 29.00 USD) flat rate for the taxi ride (this is also what we paid to get to the hotel). After spending the day on the town, buying souvenirs, and spending our local currency (but saving taxi money), we returned to the hotel. I double checked with a different guy at the desk that we would have a taxi waiting for us. Afterall, as the evening Front Desk Receptionist, it would be his job to call the taxi company. It was good I double checked, because the other guy hadn't taken action and hadn't passed along the request. Moreover, when the taxi arrived in the wee hours of the morning, we were told by the Front Desk Receptionist that it was actually a 200,000 tugrik charge (double!). We were also told the first ”receptionist” we had spoken to earlier in the day was actually a Bell Hop and we were informed that he wasn't even supposed to be working behind the counter. As a result, we had no choice but to withdraw additional local currency (taxi couldn't take a card) from the hotel Front Desk (for a nice fee) in order to pay the taxi. What's particularly irksome is that we had plenty of cash which we would have saved if we had simply been told the correct amount. There were other issues, but this review is already lengthy... Overall, we had a less than stellar experience at this Kempinski. If you're going to Ulaanbaatar, I'd recommend you stay elsewhere. If we ever go back we'll probably stay at the Shangri-la. It's closer to the airport as well as the heart of the city.

Hotel meraviglioso, lo consiglio! 10 su 10! Pulizia ogni giorno e comfort in tutto è solo la classe superiore! Inoltre, colazione gratuita e personale amichevole. Mi piaceva davvero il servizio! Sarò felice di rimanere qui ancora una volta quando sarò a Ulaanbaatar la prossima volta.

Arriviamo all'hotel 29.10.22 alle 7:00, siamo stati stanchi dopo il treno e anche se il soggiorno è alle 11:00, siamo stati creati all'improvviso una bella ragazza sul recepshn. Mi piace la stanza sul 7o piano, sul tavolo con bottiglia d'acqua, tè - caffè, nel bagno per la doccia, tutto è gratuito e per via è riempito ogni giorno. Nella stanza tutti standard , due letti grandi , tavolo da tè , pota , frigorifero , TV (a proposito, molti canali di lingua russa) c'è una cassaforte che è molto conveniente. Per colazione la tavola svedese, molto vari colazione, molto gentile ragazze cucina omeleti;) Molto buona in isolamento sonoro dell'hotel, molto tranquilla di notte. Ciò che voglio notare soprattutto , A Reepshen incontrò una ragazza chiamata Miga, lei parla molto bene russo, lei parla molto bene Ci ha rapidamente risolti il primo giorno. Miga e poi ci ha aiutato molto su tutte le questioni. Con tour, con taxi, con acquisti di medicina, prodotti e anche dove comprare. Le ha dato il numero di telefono personale e sicuramente abbiamo usato la sua gentilezza costantemente. È un uomo d'oro perché non ha mai rifiutato, ma ha consigliato dove sia più economico e come sarà più conveniente.Miga, io, solo per la tua conoscenza, voglio davvero venire in Mongolia, è al tuo hotel. L'hotel raccomanda, rapporto prezzo - qualità, buon personale e eccellente!Grazie per l'ospitalità;)

Average but well located. Double room with tiny bed, only 1 mug, 1 glass and 1 towel although 2 people staying. No room either side of bed and very dated decor. Unclear from reception whether breakfast included. Noise from function downstairs really bad. Bathroom is wet room , dated and floor slippery. Staff very friendly, and willing to help . However much cheaper than other hotels in area, and bedding clean and teeny tiny bed was comfortable

Buona posizione, a soli cinque minuti a piedi dalla piazza principale, e vicino a qualche dei musei più importanti. Anche il principale ufficio postale è lì. Anche in un'altra direzione è il centro commerciale Shangri-La vicino, con cibo in alto. L'hotel è un po' vecchio, forse, ma comodo. Per un occidentale come me, il colazione era abbastanza soddisfacente, con frutta, cereali, tosta e salsa disponibile. Le ragazze alla reception parlavano buon inglese e erano utili.

We had two stays, one for one night and one for three after attending the Eagle Festival in western Mongolia. Arrival and check in was smooth and efficient. The front desk was able to hold a bag for us for the three days we spent away at the festival. We had breakfast included which was an easy way to start each day. The Nadam restaurant had Oktoberfest going on the night we arrived and we ate there again one other night. Service there was a bit slow to absent for both nights. The rooms were pleasant, roomy and clean. Beds were comfortable and there was a soft and a firm pillow for each person. We didn't have any special requests although I'm sure they would have been accommodated. The showers were roomy and water pressure/temp control very good. Wi-Fi was stable and strong throughout the hotel property. No password so connecting was easy. The hotel complex is located in a very convenient location which is great once you're there but can take some time coming from outside (tours, airport etc). We were able to walk to most attractions from the hotel and dine/drink in the area within walking distance. Overall pleasant staff, comfortable rooms and convenient location. Well worth considering while staying in UB.

Stavo qui 3 volte diverse durante una tour della Mongolia. Il personale del desk front sono amichevole e utile. La stanza era comoda, ma l'aria condizionata era molto fredda e non poteva essere regolata così finalmente doveva solo spegnerla. L'hotel è in una posizione molto grande, a un isolato dalla grande piazza e vicino a un grande centro commerciale e cassaforte sul canto e un altro lungo la strada. (Nota: l'ingresso nel centro commerciale è al secondo piano dal negozio di cassiere all'angolo esterno dell'hotel e a destra). Ho avuto un problema importante: ho chiuso la mia luce “non disturbare” quando abbiamo lasciato il giorno e quando sono tornato quella sera che la luce era smesso e la mia stanza era stata costruita. Ho consigliato al guidatore di visitare la persona del desk front, e lei ha risposto che la stanza era stata introdotta solo per lasciare nuove bottiglie d'acqua - quindi immagino che se avete il segno di disturbo su di loro ancora entrano per lasciare l'acqua? Era turbante perché non si occupavano mai della questione della costruzione della stanza; le altre due volte ci siamo rimasti solo per una notte e le cose erano buone. La stanza ha un'ampia gamma di servizi, come sapone, shampoo, condizionatore e lozione, nonché caffè e tè, ma portate il vostro lavastoviglie se si usa per usarlo. Il buffet per la colazione era buono ma non meraviglioso, ma era il migliore di tutti gli altri luoghi che abbiamo avuto durante il nostro soggiorno in Mongolia. L'hotel può anche fornire l'aeroporto di prelievo e ritorno per un pagamento se contattate e consigliate l'ora di arrivo e il numero di persone e bagagli. L'hotel è situato circa un'ora di guida in traffico normale dall'aeroporto e 20-30 min più in traffico pesante.

Sono rimasto per 3 giorni di recente. La stanza era ben designata, con una bella posizione, vista e ristoranti. Tuttavia, ci sono stati tre questioni. La musica era alta fuori (da un luogo di musica e da pubblicità) fino alle ore di mattina presto che ci tenevano svegliati, ed era un problema grave, e non rimarrei li' a meno che non mi fosse stato risolto. 2) non c'era calore, e le notti erano fredde (la scorsa notte potevamo chiedere un riscaldatore portatile). 3) le cieche sulla finestra tra il vetro da doccia e la stanza non funzionavano bene.

I stayed there over 7 nights. On the first day I arrived at 12 noon and the check-in time was 2.00 pm. After a 13 hour flight and car ride from the airport to the hotel I just wanted to get into the room and have a hot shower. Usually in all other cities and hotels in Asia, they would have allowed me to check in earlier if they had a room. In this case, they had a room but wanted to charge me the rate of 30% for that two hour stay. I paid for it as I was in no mood to argue over it and as my Mongolian business partners were with me and I did not want to cause a scene. The hotel toilet had a smell from the drainage pipe and they could not clear the smell even after I had complained. The service staff was generally pleasant although some of the restaurant staff need some further training. At the Chinese restaurant when I asked one of the waiter to change to a private room after being seated at the normal dining hall which was noisy, the waiter replied that he was busy. And asked me to go to the reception. Perhaps they are still a bit rough at the edges. Also, the 24 hour room service does not exist as is promoted in their brochure in the room. I had to go to the front desk and then I was directed to go to the coffee house to make my order. I asked why nobody picked up the 24 hour room service line and the front desk asked me what number I dialed. I replied 3222 as was in the brochure in the room and he told me it was 3150. I told him its 3222 as per the room brochure but he insisted it was 3150. I went back to my room to double check after placing the order at the coffee house and it was 3222 in the brochure. So either they have a wrong print or they have not updated with a new number. I was seated in the cafe many times and I noticed a gentleman who would go up to sign for a coffee at the cafe. I assumed he must be a senior staff of the hotel. If he was indeed a senior staff I thought he would be friendly enough to smile to the guests at the cafe and assume some if not all the guests are also guests of the hotel.

One of my best experiences talking about hostels. Super clean, amazing host, good located and friendly owner. I recommend to go there if you want to have a nice stay in town with an affordable price and amazing comfort.
