The perfect setting for a night away for my birthday. Each and every time we return to the white hart we are never disappointed. From check in to check out, we are made to feel welcome by all staff. Chloe is an absolute gem and nothing is ever too much trouble. Amazing rooms Amazing food and Amazing company

We are relatively local and having been given a substantial gift voucher recently , we thought we would pop into the White Hart for a light lunch one day prior to using the voucher. Having seen the sandwich menu online prior to going, we felt it would be an ideal stop for a drink and snack lunch. We were halted at the entrance by a young man who brusquely "are you joining us for lunch?" We explained we only wanted a drink and light lunch to which his reply was "well choose something off the starter menu then!!" I was always under the impression that the function of hospitality was to make your customers feel welcome and comfortable. Our experience was neither and we are now left wondering what we will do with the gift voucher as at this moment, we have no intention of a repeat performance. Very sad indeed.

Quintessential English Service was excellent Dan really does care Dropped in on the way up the A1 and this did not disappoint Mushroom and Spinach Wellington was crisp and flavoursome with the rosemary gravy a real hit Pie of the day - Steak was also a delight. The Rioja was smooth and rich and wish we could have stayed for more

Pros: a lovely old pub tastefully updated very friendly staff plenty of parking my full english breakfast was excellent Cons: room 9 and 10 are 6 feet away from a gravel drive so disturbance from vehicles leaving at night and early morning my wife's eggs royale was spoilt by egg shell within it bath controls left us confused as to how they operated the shower/bath/hose The pros outweighed the cons and we would gladly go again

We ate here last night for our daughters birthday and boy was it good The blade of beef was exceptional and well presented Fish and chips good and puddings were so very good OMG! Sadly they had no Sav Blanc as had had a run on Sunday Our server was lovely

2 visits in 2 months - warm welcome, great food and drink (beers and wine list). Busy pub with locals (love Mavis the spaniel) and visitors. Every table was taken on a Wednesday night - not many pubs in the area would be able to say the same so this is a huge indicator of it's popularity. Lovely seating area in front of the wood burner. I really like the fact the business owner welcomes you and helps the waitressing staff with service/clearing away.
