I recently stayed at Sterling Aravalli Udaipur and it was a good experience not the best I would say. The location was pretty far away around 35 minutes away from the main city area. If you want to be away from the hustle and bustle then this is perfect for you as I did too for two nights. The rooms were clean and spacious and the view from my classic room was beautiful. The balcony was nice and quaint with garden views. For breakfast the options were purely limited to poori bhaji, idli sambhar and dosa/uttapam which were fairly tasty no doubt, but they could venture out into continental dishes as well to serve a fairly even spread. You can try dishes from their set menu out of which I can vouch for a few like spaghetti aglio e olio, cheese corn cigars and some basic fresh milk coffee which I would say was the best in Udaipur. Between 7-8 pm they organize a puppet and magic show hosted by Imran, Mr. Ajay and Kritika which was undoubtedly worth a watch. Now coming to the drawbacks, I experienced a couple of issues in my room, the first being the entire control systems in the room used to trip and go off and then second was an extremely bad drainage smell from the bathroom. On the first day they came over to the room about 6-7 times to check into this matter, the second day it was worse because they came again and the fuse bursted in front of our eyes and when we asked those workers they laughed and assured us as if nothing happened. When we spoke to the day manager Mr. Shyam and told him about this issue reoccurring and if he could change the room, he had a frivolous attitude about a serious matter and said “normally guests put and pull the card out of the socket in force so these things tends to happen”. Even when we spoke to the front desk they did not take it into consideration. Someone else in our place would have brought the whole hotel down as it’s a huge concern for the entire system to blast. After all this they finally changed the entire card system and for the drainage system they buried it with a heap of packet freshener. My issue in this matter was after a number of calls and their lack of communication between each other they did not change our room after trying to fix the same issue so many times and after they could see no change. Overall I would rate this hotel 3/5, they need to work on their service. Below are also images of their towels, you can view and judge for yourself.
