Hotel in zona Recreativo [Buena Vista] Park, Tuxtla Gutierrez

Im a Bonvoy Member and stayed on Marriotts around the globe, I’m so sad to say that this is the worst in my own country. The hotel, looks very old everywhere. There is zero maintenance, Front desk very cold feeling, normally a nice front desk invite you to stop by.. well not the case here. We had lunch at the restaurant that took 45 minutes to get to the table with an empty restaurant only 2 or 3 tables at the time. No air conditioning it all. They had this big floor fans that helps a bit but come on!!!!, this is a Marriott not a 2 start hotel. We originally book a 3 night stay but we leave one night early and cancel another extra night at the end of our trip. I reserve a 2 double beds City View deluxe room. They give me room 247 with a terrible parking view room. I call front desk and they change us to room 518 on the 5th floor, on that change we lost my daughter’s Oaxaca handcrafted backpack, we were not able to recovered. In the bedroom our bedsheets and bath towels were ripped off. It feels terrible to use them. Worse case at the pool, I took my youngest kid for swimming, there was no pool towels, I ask a gentlemen for some y that took 35 minutes and when they arrived, the towels conditions were worse than a mechanic shop, juts terrible condition. We ask for an extra sheets for the sofa-bed that took 90 minutes to get there. On our second night, there was tremendous party with a high volume somewhere at the main boulevard that ends close to 4 am. You feel the music as it was next door. (I know the hotel can’t control that, but they can invest on some new technology glass with noise reduction ) again, this is a Marriott!! Our room neighbors were drinking and being loud until 5 am. Terrible. We decided to leve in the morning and cancel our next reservation. So disappointed about our experience.

It's fine. The only thing I'll say is avoid breakfast buffet, it's all heavy and full of processed food and the things that are fresh were wilted and unappealing. Its also very expensive. For less money you can take a cab to and from the Mercado Juan Sabines and get a way better breakfast. They also don't ask before assisting you with your luggage, which we barely had. We then obviously felt obligated to tip since he yanked them out of the trunk of our cab before we were out of the back seat. We don't like our stuff being touched but at that point it was done. Won't stay here again.

I tried for 2 days to reach the hotel management. We paid in advance for a ”premium double room”. The pictures of the room we were promised is not the room we got and all the room pictures they post are not as nice as any of the rooms I have seen. The first thing we noticed is the room smelled. I thought it smelled like sewage but my fiance says it just smells old. The room seems much smaller than what you see in the pictures and our room is not renovated, there is black mold in the bathroom, there is no safety deposit box as promised and the office does not offer one. There is no lock on the window. The hotel/staff is very noisy in the morning. The breakfast is adequate but not a ”buffet” as advertised. I also told them not to come into our room until we leave but as with everything else my request was ignored. I messaged the hotel twice before we arrived to arrange an airport pickup and 3 days later still no reply. Before we arrived they were trying to sell us tours. We ended up booking 1 tour through the hotel but they charged us 80 pesos more than they advertised and as it turns out the price the hotel charged us was 60% more than had we booked it direct with Monte Cristo Tours.

Un hotel pulito, comodo e ben situato.

Un poco confusa la forma de poder llegar, ya que si vas en carro no encuentras un solo letrero visible sobre la avenida que te indique por donde entrar al hotel, y el gps te manda al punto en donde está el hotel pero no a la entrada específica, pero preguntado con un guardia no indicó por donde, es en el mismo estacionamiento de la plaza AMBAR, fuera de eso no hay mayor inconveniente, un hotel limpio, con personal bien entrenado y muy amable, la habitación que nos tocó bastante silenciosa, amplía, con pequeños detalles de mantenimiento, como detalle en muro sin terminar de pintar, el mueble para poner las maletas un poco maltratado con una cajonera por caer, y la regadera con poca presión de agua (se solicitó se revisara e inmediatamente mandaron a una persona a verificar su estado, estaba algo tapada la tubería y algo sucia la regadera, le hicieron la limpieza y la presión mejoró un poco, permitía bañarse sin mayor contratiempo), relación calidad y precio bastante buena, lo mejor en mi opinión, la posibilidad de tener servicios adicionales al tener toda la plaza comercial, ya que hay café, cine, una área de comida bastante amplia y con muchas opciones, tiendas de todo tipo que te permiten si tienes tiempo disponible poder entretenerte sin tener que moverte de lugar, bastante recomendable.
