Hayesville is a small town, nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. It is home to many historic buildings and landmarks, including the Clay County Historical and Arts Council, which showcases the region's rich cultural heritage. Hayesville is located near the highest point in Georgia, Brasstown Bald, which offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Another notable attraction in the area is Lake Chatuge, which spans the border between North Carolina and Georgia and is a popular spot for fishing and boating. The house is set in a beautiful meadow with sunset and sunrise views and is only minutes by car from downtown where you can dine at restaurants and breweries, enjoy outdoor festivities, and shop at local antique and gift shops that line the streets. A little further you will find golf courses and marinas with boat rentals for enjoying Lake Chatuge. The space: House sits on a level 1-acre lot with Johnson Creek just steps away from the porch. Open floorplan featuring a modern, freshly updated, and well-stocked kitchen with all the amenities of home. Main level includes a master suite with king bed and sizeable bathroom. Upstairs there are two additional bedrooms, a library nook, and one bathroom. One upstairs bedroom features a king bed and the other a fun bunk room (with trundle - 2 twin mattresses and 1 double) for the kids or additional guests. The front yard is a large and level grass yard that stays freshly mowed throughout the growing season. With 3 bathrooms, One with a tub and two others with showers. The Master Bath has a double sink, and each bathroom has a vanity. Relax in the warm inviting living space or take in the fresh mountain air on the outdoor screen in patio. It has a large living space with lots of sitting room to sit around the wood fire place or put on the game and put your feet up. Crack a wind and you can enjoy the sound of Tusquitte Creek. Have a North Carolina Fishing License you can step out your back door for some Trout Fishing.There are (2) large tables so you can enjoy your home cooked meal or if you prefer, throwing a steak or a veggie burger on the grill we are fully equipped for that too.The neighborhood is small and quiet. A perfect place to take walks or just sit on the front porch in the rockers or glider and take in the views. On a hot summer day what's better than putting your tube in the creek and splashing about with the kids? Enjoy your time in Hayesville at our fabulous cabin. On a cold winter day, you can enjoy a crackly fire with plenty of chairs to go around.It is a perfect place for a vacation getaway. The owners (me) are very close and are available to help with any question you have with the cabin or "things to do" in the area.We welcome up to two dogs, no more than 30 pounds. It's the perfect secluded get away for up to 8 people including a wood burning stove and large romantic King Bed Suite!The spaceCompass Creek Cabin overlooks rushing Compass Creek near Hayesville, NC 28904. It's off the beaten path and SO peaceful! The sounds of the creek can be heard from any window in the house! It's nestled in a valley in the mountains bordered by 400 acres of national forest, and 15 mins from pristine Lake Chatuge. It's a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath log cabin that sleeps 8 in 1 King, 2 Queens, and 2 Twins with new Cool Gel Memory Foam mattresses. It has a firepit with 8 comfy Adirondack chairs, a picnic table, bench, and 2 person hammock all by the creek plus a wrap around porch with porch swing, rocking chairs, cornhole, and a grill. Inside, there's a beautiful iron wood burning stove for charming inside fires that can heat the whole house! The master suite has a King bed, its own porch access and a claw foot tub and river rock shower in the enormous master bath. The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms are all huge too and share the upstairs bathroom with shower / tub combo. Each has a Queen bed and Twin bed. The kitchen is large and fully equipped to cook all your meals plus the grill on the porch outside. The gorgeous Log dining table seats 8 comfortably in the dining room right off the kitchen. The living room and dining room are both stocked with board games and both are great places for family games!Compass Creek Cabin is a nature lover's paradise! Step outside to acres of forest and the beautiful creek to explore, and trails to hike! We also have cornhole and disc golf (1 goal) you can play as well as plenty of board games, puzzles, video games, and movies inside! You're just 5 miles to a beautiful championship golf course, 8 miles to Horseback Riding, and 8 miles to pristine Lake Chatuge which is wonderul for swimming, fishing, boating, etc.! Historic Hayesville is nearby and has great restaurants and shops and Eagle Fork Vineyard and Winery is even closer!Compass Creek Cabin is decorated for the holidays almost every year usually from around Thanksgiving through the beginning of January. Feel free to check if it will be decorated when you will be there. Check out our photos for pictures from various times of the year!Compass Creek Cabin is a no pet cabin, so it's a safe space for those with pet allergies.Activities:PLAY IN THE CREEK: You are welcome to play and fish in the creek right in back of our cabin! It is shallow enough to hike in, and there is also a little swimming hole area where it's deep enough to dunk in to cool off on a warm day. In colder weather, we love to put on knee high rain boots and explore the creek! Our creek is always rushing and never dries up.HIT THE HIKING TRAILS: You can hike around our cabin! Also features weight and cardio rooms, an indoor full-size basketball court, and racquetball.- Mountain Harbor Golf Club (also has a great restaurant!) is 5 miles away. Brasstown Valley Golf Club is a 20-minute drive. Chatuge Shores is a 10-minute drive. Several options if you want to play a full 18.- Chunky Gal Horse Stables is a 20-minute drive to enjoy some awesome trail riding. - There are many little shops in Hayesville, Hiawassee, Young Harris, and other small towns in the area.- For boat and kayak rentals, check out Ridges Resort and Marina, Chatuge Cove, and Boundary Waters.- West Tubing Company offers tubing and float trips- Enjoy a local beer and BBQ sandwich at Laughing Dogs Brewing Company (2 miles away). Other options are Nocturnal Brewing (downtown Hayesville), Hayesville Brew, and Hiawassee Brew. Friendly staff, great live music, and a fun way to meet other travelers in the area.- Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds is a 20-minute drive and hosts many events and concerts. - Hamilton Gardens at Lake Chatuge is a beautiful 33-acre garden. They host a sunset concert series beginning each Spring through Fall.- Take a one-hour drive down HWY 64 to Highlands, NC for an afternoon.
