Trump Turnberry

Firstly it pains me to leave this review as I greatly admire the owner of this hotel but I don’t think he knows how it’s run. Mr trump is a remarkable man this hotel is not. It’s greatly overpriced for a mediocre hotel we booked a room through the vio site £620 for a deluxe room we arrived and were given our room I must point out the valet was a lovely chap very accommodating did not get he’s name. We checked in all good given room number they said our bag would follow. We went in to room it was small and well used with a view of another building ten feet away and as we sat waiting for luggage which never arrived we noticed that the complimentary fruit was rotten looked two weeks old and room was rough so we went down after 30-40 minutes to complain still no luggage. They said the fruit left on side was disgusting and apologised and bumped our room up to a balcony room which should cost £1100 believe me not worth it but we tried to enjoy. I’ve stopped in other hotels with much better rooms for circa £300 but were there now got washed went down stairs booked food in the restaurant 1904 for 7.30 pm so while we were waiting we ordered two drinks at bar vodka lemonade and a house wine cheap wine cost £39 pounds for these then into restaurant I have never had worse over priced food I’m my life we sent one dish back uneaten still tried to charge us for it rubber off scallops when your next to the sea unbelievable then a starter one voul a vont cheap freezer type £24 it’s a joke but we went up and retired ensured breakfast would be good omg what can I say it was unbelievable bad cheap over cooked eggs I can not express what a bad breakfast this was on the hole I’ve stopped in better Hilton’s bad service bad food mediocre overpriced rooms unfortunately I would never stop there again a sleep in would be better

We had a 24 hour stay at the hotel yesterday to celebrate our anniversary. We absolutely loved it and had a fantastic time. On arrival as it was our anniversary they upgraded our room to a sea view suite and that was just a WOW. The views are to die for. Had dinner in the main restaurant and the food there was delicious. We enjoyed the Spa and pool area during our stay and can highly recommend that. We were disappointed as I would have loved to be able to buy a Trump bathrobe but they are upgrading the shop so it was closed. If you are a golfer the course looks amazing. All in all we would highly recommend this hotel. As a special mention I would like to mention Jennifer to took my call and my actual booking. She was so helpful on the phone.

This review is my honest opinion and I am aware everyone has different views. Stayed for 2 nights with my husband as an anniversary treat. Check in was quick, friendly and easy. Valet parking was a nice touch. We stayed in room 2 which was on the ground floor overlooking the main entrance courtyard which meant we had to keep the blinds closed for privacy. Room was lovely and housekeeping service was first class. Just what you would hope for in a five star hotel. As it was our anniversary there was a lovely card and a few chocolates in our room on arrival, again a very thoughtful touch. We used the spa area twice over the weekend and it was extremely busy and noisy. Very clean but nowhere to sit and relax as all the chairs and tables were taken mostly with towels and robes rather than people sitting on them. Jacuzzi and saunas very small and crowded. So difficult to use. Location of the hotel was lovely and we had a great walk around the golf course and along the beach before heading to the clubhouse for lunch and some drinks. Food and service here were very good. Unfortunately where the hotel lets itself down is the breakfast and dinner service. Food at dinner was very limited on the market menu and we were not offered the choice of an a la carte menu. Main courses on both evenings were bland. Service very slow and we had to ask a waiter 4 times for a drinks menu!. Yes it was busy but she did seem to have time to stand around chatting with her colleagues . Eventually the sommelier, Mason, stepped in and rectified our situation. He certainly deserves some recognition for his service. Breakfast food was fabulous with an amazing choice and very tasty but again extremely slow and non existent service let it down. The table we were sat at was not set with no condiments, sugar or jams etc. 5 times I asked for salt and pepper again it was not forthcoming. In the end I waited until another table was vacated and got it myself. By the time our drinks of tea and coffee arrived we had finished our breakfast despite me asking if they had actually been ordered. Again no apology for the wait or lack of service. Not once did anyone check that everything was okay during any meal service. I was going to raise my concerns on checkout but sadly again we were just presented with our bill and not asked if we had enjoyed our stay. In my opinion service is definitely not 5 star and overall not a patch on Gleneagles or Cameron House.

Took my mother out for her lunch at Trump Turnberry and arrived at 13:55 and was seated shortly. Once seated we waited 25 minutes to be served (we had to grab someone’s attention). The order was made for a lot of tea, a bowl of soup and a sandwich. 15 minutes later the tea was no where in sight so we alerted the staff and for another 10 minutes went by nothing was done about it. Everyone else was being served though! At this point we had enough and left. Throughout most of the experience the staff kept walking past us whenever we wanted to get their attention and they were wandering about the room doing nothing. It was as if we were invisible. It was our first time at Trump Turnberry and as a local I’m appalled at the service at Trump Turnberry and will not be returning.

This was our first time staying at this hotel, and it certainly won’t be our last! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by Jim, who made us feel incredibly welcome. He was absolutely wonderful—extremely helpful and thoughtful. As someone who uses a wheelchair, I truly appreciated how Jim went above and beyond. He took care of our luggage, escorted us inside, and even parked our car for us. His kindness and attentiveness made all the difference, and he’s truly an asset to your team. The room and bathroom were beautiful—clean, spacious, and comfortable. We couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing and pleasant stay. Every member of the staff we interacted with was friendly, professional, and eager to help, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Breakfast the next morning was delicious, with a great variety of options that catered to all tastes. It was a perfect start to the day. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and are already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our stay so memorable!
