Tulfarris: hotel con bar

Sadly disappointed. Inconsistency was a recurring problem. Reception on arrival was functional, no pleasantries. We were told that the Restaurant would be closed that evening. We had emailed to pre-book and had confirmation, but this made no difference to the Receptionist. We could use the bar instead. No apology or explanation given. The reception staff had changed by the time we were going to dinner and we stopped to ask why the restaurant had been confirmed when it was closed. We were surprised when this girl told us it was open now! Its seems they were not going to inform us. Food was 6/10. Veg were carrots and parsnips. We asked for some green veg and were given the only greens they had....scallions....! There were ads for the Spa everywhere you looked in the hotel. On every table top. When we went there, we discovered that the extent of the ”Spa” is one of the 4 small treatment rooms which has a jacuzzi......Not really a spa as one would think. Available treatments are basic Facials and massage. Room was large bright and clean. Staff were in general friendly and polite, but require more professional training. Senior Restaurant staff were excellent. Breakfast staff need more training. We were led to a table that had large pieces of a pastry on floor underneath. We had to ask for it to be cleaned away before we sat down.
