Craggy Range Luxury Vineyard Retreat

We stayed at the Chardonnay cottage, tucked away in the vines behind the cellar door and restaurant. A picturesque location with views of the 'Craggy Range' vista and perfect base for a Hawkes Bay stay. A short drive to Havelock North, Hastings and Te Awanga. We loved the elegance and luxury of the cottage. It was modern, cosy, spacious and incredibly comfortable, perfect for two. Huge bathroom and great wardrobe to tuck away your luggage. We loved the little fireplace that added ambience in the evening, and (French press) coffee, fresh sourdough loaf and marmalade, all locally made, were a treat. Highly recommend booking the Giants tasting experience for fine wine lovers, to experience Craggy Range prestige wines and library wines, to enhance the connection to place and enrich the whole experience. The restaurant is an absolute must for a visit to Hawkes Bay. The food, wine and service was outstanding and memorable. The 1-2 minute walk back to our cottage after dinner was the most amazing starry night sky. If you're staying over a weekend, don't miss the Hastings Farmers market, on a sunny day. We would absolutely stay again, thank you for having us, Craggy Range, until the next time.

We are feeling so refreshed after our nourishing stay at the divine River Lodge. It was so nice to not have to even leave the property so we could really relax and indulge for the less than 48hr stay we had. Having such an amazing restaurant on-site is such a treat and we enjoyed two wonderful meals here. The property is absolutely stunning and very generously sized and we truly loved it. Highlights were; - Seeing Venus in the sky shining so bright from the bedroom followed by a nice late winter sunrise from bed - Generous breakfast provisions and wine fridge - Outdoor fireplace - Really lovely bed linen, towels, amenities, cozy blankets etc

We loved it here, it was so clean everything was pristine. The staff were lovely and very helpful with any questions we had. The view and the grounds were so wonderful, the food was amazing a very delicious experience. We would definitely recommend staying here for multiple days!

Of all the stacation I have had, including the likes of the Queenstown Hilton, Craggy Range was next level, accommodation, with the breakfast was outstanding. The Wine Tasting, Giant Experience and dinner was just amazing. To have an 18-year-old waiter, that had the level of understanding and knowledge of the matched wines with the shared dinner course was a true reflection of their passion, but also the level of training and investment that Craggy puts into their people.

Exceptionally beautiful place with very friendly staff. Our cottage was very spacious and provided all the amenities that we needed (kitchen, washing machine, dryer). The surroundings look like a park, and the nights are extremely silent. We had a truly excellent time, and the restaurant is definitely worth a visit, too.

Our 8th visit to Craggy Range since 2020, 4th visit in Merlot Cottage, a two bedroom cottage amongst the vines. This time we were hosting family from overseas. As always the accommodation is superb, with simple breakfast ingredients provided and refreshed each day by friendly staff, who also service the cottage. Of course, each stay must include at least one meal in the restaurant (voted too winery restaurant in NZ), which came up expectations once again. The bio-dynamic vegetable garden seems to get bigger with every visit and supplies the kitchen with fresh herbs and vegetables. There’s building going on in the grounds (a new accommodation house for larger groups) but this didn’t disturb our peace. As part of the accommodation we were offered a winery tour and tastings which was very information and led by one of the staff, who clearly had a great love of the products and conveyed the care that goes into the wines produced by Craggy Range, who have vineyards in Hawkes Bay and Martinborough. We’ll be back!!
