We came for dinner last year, and stayed the night this time. But we’re coming back for longer; apart from anything else, we want to explore the delicious menu. The style is that of a _very_ upmarket pub, but there’s loads of space between tables, and the food is genuinely magnificent. The menu is short (ie not all out of the freezer!) but all the options looked excellent. I had sausage and mash; this pub stalwart is elevated to mythic status by a round of Cumberland sausage on a snowdrift of the fluffiest mash imaginable, with surely the world’s most unctuous gravy - a gloopy, almost black and oh-so-tasty concoction that must’ve been reducing for days. The rooms are very stylish; ours had a comfortable and efficient shower, beautiful fluffy towels, and plenty of space. The location is perfectly poised to explore the local area, and Shakespeare’s Stratford is just a quarter of an hour away in one direction, and the Cotswolds ten minutes in the other. The staff are all quite charming. There’s free charging for your electric car. So we will be back for longer next time, and we heartily recommend The Fuzzy Duck to you.
