The Torridon

is place! Scenic beauty. Epicurean food! Gracious service! It is one of the loveliest spots in the world. I want to give a shout out to Fadzai. She’s took care of us during our stay. She’s a lovely young lady from Zimbabwe. Another server from Czech Republic was also lovely but I didn’t get her name. The wait staff was engaging and took good care of us while we stayed here.

Very nice country house hotel in stunning location . Food at 1897 restaurant is excellent and they were able to accommodate a pescatarian on the set menu . The restaurant manager was friendly and helpful and hearing us mention that our favorite fish was turbot on our first evening , he arranged for it to be on the menu the following night . Staff across the property were uniformly friendly and helpful . Wonderful whiskey bar . Great selection of outdoor activities though some like kayaking had to be cancelled because of wind . Wonderful guided hikes available.

The hotel itself is beautiful and can’t fault the rooms and location. Unfortunately it all goes down hill from there. The staff range from rude and dismissive, to wildly incompetent. The waiting time at breakfast was over an hour, with orders being mixed up and items forgotten by waiting staff every single morning and evening. We were approached 4 times within 5 minutes one evening asking if we wanted to order, when we’d already placed our order with another member of staff. On multiple occasions, the correct cutlery wasn’t brought, so we had to request it and wait, while our food got cold. The waiting times at the restaurant were also unacceptable, with our party waiting over an hour for our staters and another hour for our mains on a weekday when the restaurant wasn’t busy. No apology was made, neither was there any indication that the staff cared that this 5 star hotel had a 1 star service. The food (when it did finally appear!) was low quality and cold. Not what you’re after after a long day in the countryside. It’s a shame, as hiring more experienced staff and fixing the service issues could make this a brilliant hotel. Right now, there’s a long way to go. Overall a very disappointing visit, which is even more unacceptable given the Torridon’s prices and positioning as a 5-star establishment.

What an amazing place! The hotel, Stables, restaurants, surroundings, views and Loch are all incredible. Everything is high quality. Our room at the Stables was perfect, comfortable bed, nice touch with refreshments and little extras. Very nice robes and slippers too! Staff were super helpful. Highly recommend the Torridon and look forward to returning.

The Torridon was magical from beginning to end. There's so much attention to detail in every room. You truly feel like you're staying in a castle when you're exploring the downstairs sitting room, library, and bar. The views are amazing. The highlight of our trip was the attentive staff - specifically, we enjoyed our time with Shashank and Piyush who made us feel like we were so welcome and shared some late night wine with us. The bartender in the hotel was amazing as well, recommending some nice whiskeys and keeping the bar open late for us. The rooms and beds were amazing, it was the most comfortable stay of our trip. We loved The Torridon and can't wait to come back!

Surely one of the loveliest hotels we have ever stayed. The location in and of itself is just splendid. It's unspoiled, pristine and gorgeous. When we booked this hotel, we imagined we would feel very far-flung surrounded by fantastic nature. That was precisely our experience at the Torridon. Our accommodations were in the Stables, which was very comfortable and understated. We dined at the various hotel restaurants and the food was delicious. The hotel has a sublime bar with a great selection of whiskies, and a wonderful bartender. We also had a delightful gin-tasting experience. Also highly recommend one of the many outdoor experiences the Torridon offers. We did the guided walk and we walked along the coast with our wonderful guide Veshengo. The Torridon was a perfect experience!

This hotel is in a lovely setting but the service and the food are not what one would expect from a 5 star hotel. First, the room was not ready and we told to purchase a drink. I would think a 5 Star hotel would offer a drink under such circumstances. Second, the food in the restaurant was undercooked, Third, one waitress was quite rude to our table. Fourth, the staff indicated that my wet boots would be dried overnight and they were not. The Torridon simply did not offer a five star experience.
