Refugio Grey

Che esperienza complessivamente deludente. Abbiamo portato con noi tutto il nostro cibo e la nostra attrezzatura per l'escursione sull'O Trek, tuttavia abbiamo deciso che dopo una lunga giornata di escursioni sul passo, probabilmente avremmo gradito un pasto più grande, quindi abbiamo prenotato in anticipo il buffet per $ 40 USD a persona. Dato il prezzo, immaginavo un buffet molto carino con accesso illimitato al cibo. Questo era molto sbagliato. Il cibo in sé era difficilmente commestibile, 2 opzioni di zuppa, entrambe non avevano sapore. Ti era consentita solo un'opzione di carne e un giro attraverso il buffet, avevo il pollo che sapeva di un blocco di sale. C'erano degli spaghetti ma nessuna salsa di alcun tipo, fagioli neri, riso, insalata e verdure in scatola che erano praticamente sparite quando abbiamo superato la fila. Alcuni succhi, gelatine e altri dessert erano già spariti. Le persone che hanno prenotato direttamente al Refugio hanno pagato molto meno (circa 23 dollari, credo)... anche se era comunque un prezzo ridicolo per quello che veniva offerto. Pensavo che fosse necessaria la prenotazione anticipata (e dovrebbe anche essere inferiore poiché hanno la conoscenza e il conteggio dei numeri per consentire la giusta quantità di cibo). Potevi comprare pizza e hamburger per meno di $ 20 che avevano un sapore molto migliore e una maggiore quantità di cibo. A parte il terribile buffet di cibo, il grigio è un campeggio gigantesco, se hai portato la tua tenda - hai un pezzo di terra abbastanza grande da contenere la tua tenda e praticamente sopra il tuo prossimo vicino - situato a una lunga passeggiata dai bagni. Dopo aver percorso la O, incontrare la W e un gran numero di persone qui è travolgente. Le docce erano belle e calde, più ganci a muro e sgabelli vicino alla doccia o qualcosa su cui sistemare le cose sarebbe una bella aggiunta. Gray ha tutti gli altri servizi, wi-fi, postazione di ricarica, bar, acqua calda, ecc.

We really enjoyed the camping! The gear is all new and clean. The staff is very friendly and willing to help. The showers are very nice and warm. We also had lunch and dinner at the camping which were also arranged well, with both you could take as much as you want.

It was a great Hostel and the Glacier Hike was awesome. W trek in general was an awesome experience that i would recommend to anyone who likes beautiful views and walks. The service in the Hostel was amazing, great drinks views and food. Thanks

Beautiful resort and very friendly staff! Awesome views & cold beers! Couldn’t be a more pleasant stay. It’s in Great shape, tents are well marked and the lodge is open to all for hanging out, drinks, games and tv. Awesome stay - wish more were like this!

The Refugio Grey is a great location and has great facilities. The bar and veranda really stand out compared to other Refugios. However the food offered via the buffet is terrible. Dried chicken, powered egg, no toaster etc was among the worst on the trip. Packed lunches was a soggy sandwich Seems strange when other locations on the W Trek which are more remote have better food. Paine grande is the same and Seems this company who runs both is more keen for you to buy their menu food than take pre purchased. More effort goes into the menu food and is actually rather good
