In general this is quite nice for this level lodging. It is new, which shows. If you are a jogger, a miles long greenway is outside the door and the hotel is across the street from a nice park. Movie theater across the parking lot along with a well known casual restaurant. But maintenance is already starting to slip. There was mold around one edge of the tub. An edge of the tub enclosure was cracked, possibly from construction. One piece of stone baseboard in the bath had come completely loose and could be removed if one was so inclined. One of the bed reading lights did not work. Stain on the carpet. I'd recommend but only for now because of what appears to be inattention to maintenance details.

Great room, more like a mini suite. Great coffee service area. There was a modular couch that you could move around and configure was a trundle or daybed, to your liking. That was cool. There was a big TV that can swivel to the living are or to the bed area. Bed area was nice, but TBH, I think my mattress could be replaced - and I apologize for not saying anything when I checked out about that. Spacious bathroom with lighted mirror (I really like those), nice sink area with just enough counter space and a very nice shower with a disappearing drain.

We travel through Kansas often and are looking for a hotel that is CLEAN, quiet and CLEAN (redundancy intentional). I was excited when I found this newer hotel and even more pleased to see the eateries within walking distance. The ratings on here, as well as the Bonvoy site suggested staff was friendly and the place was clean. The former is true, the latter not even close. Upon entering I noted the filthy entrance and windows and told myself a story that perhaps a storm had contributed to the mess. Unfortunately that didn’t explain the elevators, hallway and room. I won’t go into details but anyone who stays there beware. Just not up to Marriott standards.

When we checked in, the young lady at the front desk gave his Hollywood acting debut and it was too long and animated for that time of night. Our room was clean and comfortable, so we had a good night. Breakfast was better than in the past, but still needs some improvements. The nasty turkey sausage needs to go. Other Marriott hotels carry organic sugar, but not this one. On the plus side, the fellow in the kitchen was out regularly checking the serving area and replenishing items.

The Springhill Suites is a beautiful, newer hotel, but we found several small dysfunctional things about the room. First, it isn’t well sound-proofed at all. At times it sounded like the room above us might cave right in. Second, the bathroom has one of those big frosted glass sliding doors and it’s right at the foot of the beds—we all woke up from both the noise and the bright light every time someone got up to use the restroom during the night. I hate this trend in using frosted glass doors—just use a real door that better blocks sound and light. Finally, the room is huge—it even has a walk-in closet. But it just has one small TV which is really hard to see from the beds. Again, the hotel is gorgeous and the room is spacious, just a lot of the features were incredibly impractical.
