Wuzhen ZELIN Viewing Pavilion Boutique Hotel (Xizha Scenic Area)

If you're looking for a clean, affordable place to stay near Wuzhen but don’t want to pay the premium of staying inside the scenic area, this guesthouse is a fantastic option. The rooms are simple but comfortable, and the price is very reasonable — especially compared to the hotels inside the old town. What makes this place special is the local touch: the family that runs it is incredibly friendly, and they also run a small dining area where the food is home-cooked by locals. Meals are served in generous portions and full of flavor — great if you want to try authentic home-style Chinese food. During check-out, we even received a small farewell gift, which was a really sweet surprise. The owner also helped us book a car to our next city at a better price than what we found on the usual apps. Overall, I’d highly recommend this place for budget-conscious travelers, especially foreigners who are looking for something local, warm, and real. You don’t have to stay inside Wuzhen’s tourist area to enjoy your visit — this guesthouse gives you everything you need, with a touch of true hospitality.

The house is on Huanhe road, close to Xizha gate, about 1km walk. Homestay is upstair and restaurant is downstair, foods are real good and cheap price open until 10pm. My room has front street view, bed is spacious and really clean with all the necessary equipments. I couldn’t speak Chinese, so the owner communicate with me using translation app, he and his family are really helpful and friendly. They helped me buy the ticket to Xizha to avoid tax, and took me to buy the gifts (got some discount hahaa), also suggested me where to visit. Overall, a really nice place, room price also cheaper than inside Wuzhen, highly recommend if you plan to check in late on the first night and visit Wuzhen a whole day next morning. There’s also a clothes renting store next to the homestay, really convenient.

We stayed at the hotel for one night, we arrived just pass 10PM and the reception is still open to welcome us. The hotel is just a couple minutes away from the west gate of the water town and there are a good number of restaurants around that opens until late. Breakfast is paid separately, I paid 28 RMB for my braised lamb noodles (very good and tender) The owner and staffs are very enthusiastic to help us navigate!

Very pleasant, comfortable homestay style hotel with a view over the canal. The friendly owner personally helped with our bags, rooms and information about Wuzhen’s attractions. Great traditional breakfast. We visited the Xizha area in the afternoon and evening and the next morning took a guided tour of the less commercial and more authentic Nanzha area which has many buildings 3-400 years old.

The owner is enthusiastic, the food is delicious and what surprised me was the spacious room with a movie projector. We received a small gift from the hotel owner.
