English below 比較的新しい感じのビジネスホテルです。部屋はすごく狭いのですが、ベッドの下に物が置けるようになっていて機能的。他の東横インでもそうでしたが、デフォルトで朝食がついてくるようです。それはいいんですが…朝食時間帯終了時に食事をしていると、まだ20個ぐらい残っていたおにぎりをすべてゴミバケツに捨てているじゃないですか!2日目も同じでした。湿気の多い日本の夏で食中毒などを出さないためだと思いますが、おにぎりなどは冷凍できます。SDGsのESG実践がわれわれ(企業)に求められている昨今、単身者を含む貧困家庭の人に配る方法など考えられないのでしょうか。ホテルのダイニングには、支店長が世界の貧困子女支援をしているというサインが出ています。近隣在住の貧困者にも支援できる仕組みがあっていいんじゃないですかね。 The rooms look new, and they are small but functional--e.g., beneath the bed there's space where you can store your luggage. This hotel chain serves breakfast, which is convenient. However, the thing that caught my eye was that when the breakfast service ended, the staff threw away the food remained on the buffet table, i.e., dozens of onigiri (rice balls) into the trash bin! They can freeze rice balls for later consumption and at a later time or day give them away to foodbanks or the people who need them. What I'm saying here is that they seem to lack an awareness to contribute to SDGs (or making of a more sustainable society), although contradictingly, they place a photo which tells us that the manager of the hotel has been financially supporting a Southeast Asian youngster to complete high school in the Philippines. If so, they should think of people in need in their footsteps. This hotel chain should come up with a solution to reduce/generate food waste in a better, more humanitarian way. If you are conscious of SDGs and related issues, tell the hotel to participate in them.
