My Husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Copal Tree Resort! Our room blew my mind away. We had wonderful sunsets from our private deck. Enjoyed watching the hummingbirds!! Woke up to the Howler Monkeys. The staff so friendly and professional. Rev so passionate about the Rum and Rum making process! So fortunate to have Martin as our guide on multiple excursions. We will return and pass it on to our friends and family!

This lodge is just AMAZING! From the accommodations, to the landscapes, the food and especially the people. They do everything possible so you’ll have a perfect experience. I knew I was coming to a beautiful place but I had no idea how special it would be. There’s even a sense of friendship among all the guests as you see them often at meals, bar and outings. I plan to come back often!!!

My time at Copal Tree Lodge was lovely. If you are looking for a secluded getaway in the midst of the rainforest, then look no further. The staff at Copal Tree are all exceptionally kind and helpful. The kitchen/restaurant was delicious. The dinner menu changes every night and there are always lovely options of both local dishes as well as foreign ones. They also gladly accommodated my dietary requests. Most everything they serve is made from scratch using ingredients from their own garden and farm. While I would have liked to explore Punta Gorda more, I absolutely adored staying out at the lodge and exploring the grounds on the hiking trails. I did however go on a few excursions organized by the lodge, the one that stood out was the half day birdwatching. Our guide Matt was thoroughly knowledgeable and took us to various hotspots where we saw 33 bird species and even a family of howler monkeys!

The Copal Tree Lodge is the perfect crossroads of luxury, adventure, health and sustainability. It’s not just a resort; it’s an organic jungle farm that treats its guests like royalty while giving access to stunningly beautiful rainforest views, wildlife, and excursions. The true magic of the lodge are the people though. We took a coffee cupping tour and went kayaking early in the morning with Andres. His deep knowledge and appreciation for the beautiful ecosystem the farm is situated on was impressive and inspiring. Absolutely serene moments and seeing the beautiful wildlife on the river were a major highlight of the trip. Thank you so much Andres! All of our tours of the farm were just so cool. We learned about their entire coffee, rum, and chocolate making process from seeds to sipping. It was so wonderful walking through the farm and learning about each plants history and life cycle before actually trying our hands at making coffee and our own chocolate bars. Our guides like Martin, Marcelo, Jamal, and Andres were so knowledgeable, professional, and passionate about their sustainable, organic practices that produce the highest quality ingredients. That beautiful little farm is the source of one of our other major highlights: the food! Nearly every meal was the best meal of my life. Farm-to-table doesn’t do it justice, everything was incredibly fresh and flavorful. Melanie and Emelda were so kind and gracious, Ducky and Chee kept the amazing drinks flowing, and we had the time of our lives. The mixology class was a last, and Copalli is the only rum I’ll buy from now on! Overall, our stay here was unforgettable. If you want to experience true rainforest with the absolute best service and highest comfort, AND have nothing but healthy and mind blowing delicious food, Copali Tree Lodge is the place to be. We will be back as soon as possible!!

All the staff here are amazing!! They all made our stay so comfortable and got everything we needed. We would definitely be back again & would recommend anyone to stay! The views here are incredible and monkey sightings are the best part. Pack mosquito repellent!!

We can’t say enough great things about Copal Tree Lodge! We decided to elope here and everyone made it so special for us. Thank you Shanda for coordinating everything! We had a ceremony under the petal canopy by the chocolate factory and it was so beautiful! The farm to table food is absolutely delicious. All the tour guides are so knowledgeable and you can tell the staff really care about the guests. They make you feel like family. The property itself is breathtaking. There’s so much to do just on the property alone. We kayaked up the river, did a little hike and saw lots of birds, iguanas and howler monkeys! We will be back! Thank y’all for an unforgettable experience!

Love Copal Tree! Great drinks, company, and service. Bird watching, hiking, lounging. Enjoy beautiful views from your hammock. Sit and enjoy rum overlooking the canopy. Walk along the rio grande and spot the wildlife. Wonderful holiday getaway. We will be back.

One of the best experiences at a resort that I’ve ever had!! The views and lodge are beautiful and the staff incredibly kind (Duckey, Elon, Mark, Tanya). We had such a relaxing time listening to the birds and relaxing in our hammock. Looking forward to returning next year!

This is a truly wonderful resort with the most incredible staff. Everyone makes you feel so welcome. We cannot wait to come back. The food, service and activities are all top notch. We loved the snorkel with the chef outing and the bean to bar was also really interesting.
