Being the only let on the family run farm, guests have the run of the roost when they stay . The Pod looks out over undisturbed woodland without a road or telegraph pole in site. It is run off of a solar charged battery pack and we use eco friendly toiletries. There is a heated gas shower and glass topped bathroom unit which boasts views out over the valley and woodland. We are a stones throw from both exmoor and Dartmoor and only 1 hours drive from some of north Devons finest beaches! sit back and relax in our little, undisturbed slice of Devon! Nestled in the quiet valley we call home on the edge of Exmoor is our spacious bell tent comprised of 2 7meter quad-door bell tents joined together to form a kitchen, dining and living space that leads into the bedroom made up of one double and two single beds with a further double pull out bed in the living space, with a gas heated shower and composting toilet to yourselves. Should you require more space for more guests, you can bring your own tents (please see below)Outside, there is a BBQ area with BBQ and gas hob for cooking as well as ample open space for dog walking and children to play. We are dog friendly but please be aware that we live in a rural area with lots of livestock round so please be cautious in areas with animals and keep dogs on leads in occupied fields.Please let me know how many guests you will be bringing with you so we can set up beds accordingly. for additional guests beyond 6, guests may bring their own tents. The detached cottage is bursting with character and has been sympathetically restored to a very high standard , with an open plan sitting room going through to a dining room and kitchen which makes it a very comfortable and cosy holiday accomodation. The setting is private right next to a large picturesque pond. From walking out onto the raised decking, which gives you the most glorious views through the valley, to the Hornsea crockery and Dusk bedding I just love the eclectic mix of styles. I'm also super happy that we have retained the wildness in the surroundings whilst making it a welcome and cosy place to stay and be in nature. We really hope you feel this too! The Hoot is part of Bellbrook Farm where we're proud to be a regenerative holiday destination. We have just three cabins here so all guests can enjoy a sense of space. Since 2022 we have worked in partnership with Devon Wildlife Trust and Mother Nature to transform our trout fishery into a wildlife reserve. There are no manicured lawns, tarmac paths or artful hedges in sight, just lots of wild areas which we hope you'll enjoy exploring. You'll be able to spot endangered water voles, deer and kingfishers as well as amazing array of dragonflies which dance around the lakes in the summer. We hope spending time by the lake & listening to the sound of water will leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. The open plan living area welcomes the beauty of nature indoors with the double French doors opening onto the decking. The bedroom has a generous ensuite bathroom and beautiful views of the lake and trees - a delight to wake up too! As The Hoot is truly hidden away, it's the perfect location for a mindful break in nature and provides an antidote to the daily grind. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside and very little else so a car is essential to access any shops, cafes, walks etc. The lanes are also single track for 2 miles so you'll need to get your reversing groove on! There are lovely shops & cafes in Bampton (5 miles) and Tiverton (9 miles).If you're looking for a relaxing few days exploring Exmoor or visiting the local National Trust whilst enjoying a cream tea or a pub lunch it's perfect. However if you want a place with a good night life and cafes within walking distance it's really not recommended. The night skies and bird watching provide the entertainment at Bellbrook! Ten minutes further on leads you to Dulverton and access to beautiful Exmoor. Within just over an hour either way you can visit the sandy coastal beaches of North Devon or South Devon.
