Ramana Towers

Service need to be improved. Some staff are not customer focus. Hope this can be improved.

I chose Ramana Towers primarily because of the location and its website. The location was excellent for me, just a few minutes walk from the entrance of Sri Ramana Ashram which was literally at the end of the street. (I discovered a nearby cafe/restaurant called 'The Dreaming Tree' which is one of the main places for meeting Westerners and which is also just a few minutes walk away plus Ganga Ma's place is also close by for Satsangs). The staff were always friendly, approachable and helpful (and arranged a taxi for me in advance from Chennai airport direct to Ramana Towers). The attached restaurant served traditional local food which was fine although I preferred to buy my own cereals and fruit for breakfast which I prepared in the kitchen area of my room. My room was fine and everything worked, including the hot water. At night, monkeys would sleep against my bathroom window and on my balcony! Another feature of this hotel I liked was the rooftop terrace which had great views of Arunachala. The website was a little misleading about the meditation halls though, when I was there the meditation halls appeared to be being used as dormitories. And the library was out of use while I was there too due to building work. Overall though, I was happy with my stay here: the place was clean and secure, and seemed relatively high-end compared to many other places in Tiruvannamalai.

An unusual hotel with all accommodation being BHKs! We stayed in a 2 BHK, quite comfortable for a 4 member family. Plus point is the availability of a Hall for relaxing as a group. Didn’t use the Kitchen facility. Location is good, away from the crowded and dusty town and also just opposite the Rammanashramam. Another plus factor is that they have accommodation for drivers. Overall Hospitality, cleanliness, service quite good. Contacting Front desk from the room is a pain. Intercom doesn’t work. The mobile number indicated in the room doesn’t connect. Yet another mobile number was subsequently made available! There is an Andhra Veg restaurant in the premises. The menu and food were decent.

Overall a good property, but it suffers from the usual niggles you expect in Indian 2* - strong room freshener that hits as you enter, 1 of the WCs leaked, we took 2BHK room but it didn't have electric kettle or any kitchen stuff. Another thing that hits you is the toilet faucet, we call it the 'wake up water cannon'! One of the days our room was ransacked by monkeys. There is a grill on windows but no mesh so apparently little monkeys can get in. I had left window open to get over the room smell. Some reviews mention the restaurant which has good seating and AC. The complimentary breakfast, however, is 'mini' tiffin and not a buffet. Their sambar looks attractive in a small bucket, but if you're staying here I would suggest eat out as all the 4 times we ate there the sambar had only large pieces of onion, tomato and green chillies with chilli tops! This is a poor representation of Andhra sambar.

Very nice hotel best hotel to stay in Tiruvannamalai.if you like luxury and food you stay hear..The hotel is very near to temple with good view..The staff was very excellent and the hotel us providing good complamatory break fast unlimited

It is marketed as v close and across the street but it is actually atleast 5 mins walk and very hard to find when you driving into town as a newbie
