Super 8 by Wyndham Kirkland Lake

Friendly staff, comfortable bed, very basic breakfast. The room was rather dusty. Location was good and an easy walk to local eateries. I would stay again.

Rooms are terrible. First room had the moat awful musty smell. Like they had attempted to clean the carpets but they didnt dry, and no ventilation. The freezer in the fridge was clogged full of ice but fridge compartment barely got cold. Asked for service but nothing happened. 2nd room the door barely closed, the shower had mildew and possibly mold. The baebecue meant for patron use had week old meat on it from canada day celebrations. Full of flies and maggots. The 3rd room the gap in the door is so bad you have to slam the door and you can see light into the hallway, which also stinks, and the freezer is again, built up full of ice. The beds were made but there is still a stink of something like mildew or something. 2nd week stay, there were cops here up and down the hall making all kinds of racket trying to gwt into a room, instead of announcing themselves and gaining entry with a keycard. Suggest going to the local microtel for a couple extra $$ a night. Will post more reviews as the weeks go.

I checked in on Sunday of June 9th 2024 stayed for 4 nights,they never once made the bed. You can see daylight all around the door even with the deadbolt applied. Very outdated! I reserved a different room for the following week. I checked I June 16th 2024 and had to switch rooms 4 times first room fridge wasn't working and same you can see outside all around the door,second room it's was still dirty but was written as cleaned at front desk,third room A/C unit didn't work,toilet paper dispensers are mounted between the shower and toilet so it gets soaked if your not carful with the curtain. Shower head leaks like a sive where it screws onto pipe.I finally gave up and asked for the same room I had last week. NOT IMPRESSED.

Room was not clean, no do not disturb card in room Ice bucket missing and no garbage can in room. Toilet paper loose not on holder

Horrible continental breakfast did not provide towels each day nor make the beds during the 3-night stay. This was a snowmobile trip and vehicles and trailers parked wherever, no direction from staff!

Sheets were stained and dirty on both beds. Crumbs in between sheets/ blankets and this was the second room we tried due to noisy parties across the hall , ice buckets had water in them and dirt/mold was starting to form. Carpets throughout the hotel were filthy.. I had tried other hotels in the area but it was 11 pm and we were exhausted. Only room left in town was the only reason we stayed…. Complained and got 1/3 off price. Should have got full refund for having to stay in this pig sty

Great for overnight stay , serves a hot waffle brkfst and great coffee, it was in a great location for shopping, or take in a local hockey game lots of parking , staff is friendly and helpful, it was great for overnight stay

Stayed here Friday March 31 2023 and again on Sunday April 2 2023 We were sledding from this hotel to Cochrane and back. Have stayed here in the past but on this trip found the rooms we stayed in looking very tired, the room we had on the Friday had a lot of water damage to the ceiling and in one area above the bed the tape had let go also there was not enough linen in the room the tissue box was empty and the remains of the last roll of toilet paper on the holder On Sunday we were in a different room but a similar experience .This time the crown moulding around the ceiling was pulling away linen for one person and the tissue box was empty. The fixtures in the shower didn't work correctly and the floor behind the bathroom door was filthy For $160 a night I do expect more. On the plus side the contact I had with the staff was great they are friendly and want to help. I understand they are new owners so I hope they can get a handle on bringing the place up to date as quick as they can. There is lots of parking and access to the trail system near the end of the street.

Disgusting. Worst Super 8 I’ve ever been to. Smelled of piss and mold covered up with cheap carpet cleaning solution for an obnoxious combination that made my lungs hurt. Avoid unless you’re a junkie with no sensibility.
