My wife and I stayed at the Indra Valley Inn for four nights in December, including two days and one night of trekking. The owner and boss “Obiwan” organized everything very well, including transport to and from Bukit Lawang. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, although I have to highlight “Fireman and “Verdi” as they were also our trekking guides. The accommodation is right on the river and we were given a room with a large balcony and a view of the river. The room including the bathroom was large and clean. Now about the trekking: Our trekking guide "Fireman" is a trained guide and the second guide was "Verdi", who is still in training, both did an excellent job. We saw five orangutans, two of them mothers with babies, up close. Other monkeys and animals too. We slept in a camp by the river and were fed by a cook (who was the boss at the rafting the next day) and did an excellent job. The rafting on fairly choppy water lasted about 20 minutes and was an experience. Think carefully about booking here! The owner Obiwan wanted to force us to book a jungle tour with him. If we didn't, he threatened to cancel the accommodation. After a few emails back and forth, suddenly no more answers from him. From the moment he realised that we didn't want to do a jungle tour with him. How could we with a small child? Before he cancelled us shortly beforehand, we'd better have done it ourselves. Other reviews show that Obiwan is merciless in his cancellations. In the worst case, they cancel a few hours before arrival, then you suddenly have no more accommodation and a lot of trouble getting your money back. This scam with forced bookings is becoming increasingly popular in Bukit Lawang, so please inform yourself in advance. Nice location on the river, but not worth all the hassle. Look for accommodation with honest people.

What a pleasant surprise. Great clic with Obiwan, Firman and Murdock. We laughed a lot . The room, location, service an hospitality is outstanding . And ofcourse the unforgettable trekking with Teddy and Eddy. Keep up the great work . Lovely greeting from Glenn an Stella

An amazing place to be in Bukit Lawang. If you have the chance, you should do the trekking in the jungle with Imran, he was a great guide and explained everything about the orangutanes and all of the quirks of the jungle. He took good care of us and his english is very good, which makes things easier. He is from there and well known in the community! Such a great experience.

The rooms are very comfortable with a nice outlook over the river and rainforest. The owner is very accommodating and friendly. He's very helpful with organising tours and transportation as you need it. The food is tasty, prepared by the owner's wife, and very reasonably priced. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt very at ease here. Bukit Lawang itself is also lovely.
