We have previously stayed at the Ibis Tilburg and our stays have been good. This particular incident is very disappointing. My husband & I are traveling from Norway to Portugal and have planned our route & hotels. We chose the Ibis brand due to it being cost effective, clean, well staffed & pet friendly. We are traveling 9 days all Ibis hotels. Upon going over our Itineraries, I noticed that one of the dates were wrong. I’m sure it was something as simple as a fat finger but I immediately made contact with the hotel. Here is where the story gets interesting. I spoke with a young girl via email. She informed me that because I bought it online and it was paid that there was nothing that we can do. I did not buy a “flex” room?. In my defense, I did go back and look and it was quite confusing as to flex or non flex. I’ve never bought a flex. I’ve never had a problem in any hotel. I travel a lot. Now mind you all I’m asking for is to change the date to June 25 from June 26. I don’t want a refund & I’m willing to pay extra and we went back-and-forth several times each time I asked who is the property manager no response. Finally when I informed them that I am going to talk to corporate and write a review, I start getting emails from the front of the house property manager. He informed me that it’s not “fair” If he was to help us, but if I wanted to sell my room to someone and change the name that they would do that well that’s not what I’m looking for. The email exchange was absurd and repetitive. I have since found out that the Ibis is a franchise. So each Ibis has different rules and regulations. Well I have since booked with another Ibis hotel and I am very pleased. No, I’m not looking for anything for free but I think if you are in the hospitality business that you should provide hospitality. The tone of the emails and just the uncooperative attitude has soured me on this brand. I feel as they could have made this situation which was a mistake and there would be no financial consequence to the hotel that they could’ve actually helped us. This particular franchise in Tilburg is unwilling to break the rules, (he also told me it didn’t matter if there was illness or a fat finger, rules are rules) and everything to them was black & white. I live in the gray & sometime you have to help your guests, again there would be no financial loss to them. They did offer that I could buy another room, and of course they would keep my money from the wrong date, I chose to find a new hotel, and I highly would never recommend this facility for any travel to anyone. Gedateerd hotel op een centrale plek in het centrum. Ideaal om te shoppen en om uit te gaan. Dit is ook meteen het grootste nadeel van het hotel. Best veel geluidsoverlast van buiten door verkeer, ”vrolijke” mensen en de diepe bassgeluiden van de feeststraat vol met terrassen waar het hotel gevestigd is. Vind je dit prima en stel je geen hoge eisen aan een hotel dan is dit een prima optie. Hotelkamer, badkamer en ontbijtruimte zijn opgeknapt. Rest is vergane glorie. Ontbijt is redelijk. Niks bijzonders maar voldoende keuze. Al met al voor een nachtje best te doen.

A big NO to this hotel with understanding that you are booking a budget hotel: the alarm system of hotel rang 2:30 am on 24 december 2022 for NO reason. We went down, tired and frustrated at night, and finally the caretaker who showed up said nothing was happening, and apparently according to them?? somebody smoked inside his room. NO verbal apologies, no compensations, no discounts ( breakfast vouchers) NOTHING! The whole my life have not seen such an unfriendly customer service hotel in the Netherlands. The expat kitchen /receptionist stuff who could not speak Dutch, but some broken English also did not ask us how our stay was or if we pleased was with their service. We explained what happened, but instead she mumbled a bit. Later I asked to talk to the manager if possible, she said the manger was not available. Other issues: Cleanness: poor. Infront of where the bic row was, just in front of inertance lots of garbage carried away by wind. The same with under beds lots of stuffs and old broken battery...! the terrace ahead of where Bastion name was installed, all were so dirty as if ages not cleaned. One light bulb was broken so our room was darker, the tv remote was not working good, no tissues available at room, no extra towel for the shower ground so you had to use the same towel for the ground while out the douch. The douch pipe was broken and spreading water everywhere. No extra pillows if you wanted to have more higher support while sleeping. You see, these details that you think upon what level why are they so extremally economizing and messy ignorant with?? All in all NO and suggest you also to not.

Un concetto di Natale indegno di denaro. Alcuni anni fa abbiamo avuto una buona esperienza nel Wegrestaurant Gilze Rijen. È dove, durante la Natale, si poteva scegliere a la carta tra piatti deliziosi. . Ma purtroppo è andato via, quindi solo Tilburg cercato. Totalmente non confrontare! Qui per 72,50 pp un massaggio semplice buffet (con bevande standard) in una fabbrica di cibo. E che con Natale? !! ? ! Terribile. Per perdere e rimuovere il maggior numero possibile di persone, era stato organizzato in diverse sessioni, ma anche questo non era sufficiente, e quando la nostra sessione era a turno, sembrava che il ristorante fosse pieno. Siamo stati spazzati in una sorta di sala di riunione illuminata con molti altri. Non è affatto affascinante/e senza atmosfera. Poi siamo stati in grado di mettere il cibo in una sala di sovrapressione ogni volta. Si è anche fatto carne e salmone per ordinare, ma le righe erano enormi. Il resto molto semplice :spaghetti, palle di torta, patate ecc. Sì, anche a volte c'era anche salmone fumato e sushi da qualche parte (se fosse stato completato). Ma quel sushi sembrava uscire dal supermercato, anche i tubi di soia. Molto poca scelta e non sapeva. Mi avevamo perso la nostra famiglia 507,50 (7 stampa), che dovevi pagare in anticipo e non potevi annullare. Non mi valeva nemmeno 200 euro. Tutti erano così terribili che abbiamo già prenotato in gennaio in un vero ristorante. Perche' non vogliamo mai più fare questo!!!!!

When staying at the hotel we couldn’t fault it. Children stay free if sharing a room, and we had booked to visit Efteling. We didn’t realise but our stay coincided with carnival, for this reason I think we were allocated a room at the back of the hotel (as I can imagine those front facing would be very noisy - there is a huge stage directly in front of the hotel at this time, as well as many food vans and outside bars etc - not that any of this worried us). So our room was on the 5th floor at the rear with a direct view of the multi story car park! (But we didn’t book for a view!). The room was well equipped with a comfy bed and a seperate shower and toilet. Everything was very clean. The only issue I would say regarding the rooms is that they were very dark so it was hard to see your items in the wardrobe. Not a big deal! The staff on reception were really helpful and chatty, and gave us lots of advice. It’s super easy to reach Efteling from here, we walked to the coach station (just by the train station) and there were regular buses. Again children travel free. You could walk to the station in about 10-15 mins. The shopping streets are very close to the hotel, and nice for a stroll - plenty of places to eat etc. we enjoyed backwerk bakery just a couple of shops down from the hotel, they did fresh smoothies and juices and lovely fresh sandwiches. Perfect for brunch/lunch. There is a Taco Bell next to the hotel! My son wanted to try it but we didn’t get chance! The issue for us came out check out, our flight wasn’t until the evening so we asked to use the secure luggage room for our case so we could enjoy our last day. We came back to the hotel to pick up our bag, and make our way to the airport. I was let in to the luggage room to get our case, but it had gone. The staff didn’t know what to do, apart from check and speak to other staff members. Eventually I asked to see the manager as we really needed to leave (fortunately we had been sensible and kept our passports and money etc on us). And I was asking for something in writing to say they had “lost” our case - as I didn’t feel comfortable just leaving with no proof (they also wanted to take the luggage receipts - I think because they wanted to figure out what had happened). The manager was “checking the CCTV” but upon our second request did come out and see us. She did apologise for the case going missing (after a long time!! More hearing about how strange this was?!?) and said if it “wasn’t found” they would replace it. At this point I was getting concerned about travelling home without any of our things, especially with my son, for example some warmer clothes, his switch!! I felt the customer service here was lacking, there was no gesture here - could they assist us getting to the airport for example - She did offer to go to the shop but by this point we were cutting it so fine to get to the airport / which we said to her!
