The hotel has an old-world charm including the older tape reel elevator telling you what floor it is on. It even has a sign that says it works, just slow. The rooms are retro fit to have electricity and plug-ins, but you can tell this place was around even before then. The bed was comfortable, the view towards the water was perfect for sunrise/sunset views and the shower was perfect.

This hotel was very quiet. It had comfortable beds and very large rooms. Everything was clean. The hotel seems tired and needs a huge investment to bring it up to the next level. As it is - it’s a one/ two night kind of place. If you are going to be out all day then it will be great. It was nice to be near the water instead of straying by the highway in a motel with no view. If you are looking for a corporate hotel (best western etc) then this is not for you. Otherwise it’s fine.

The TV in the room should be updated, it's many years old. The refrigerator is noisy (and also old). The AC unit is window-mounted, noisy, and doesn't really do much.
The pool and hot tub are great though!

I was so excited to bring an out of town friend to this hotel. I had not been there for years ago and remembered it fondly. The woman at the front desk was helpful, but when we moved from a room that smelled badly of smoke, we ended up in a worse room. Burns on the floor, the headboard was greasy and the ceiling was stained. It is disappointing to see this beautiful hotel in this condition.

I’ve stayed here a few times before, years back, and had a better experience. This time it looked pretty worn down, the carpets in the room didn’t even look like they’d been vacuumed and there was what looked like blood on the floor. My husband kept mentioning it smelt like urine in the room. The beds themselves, honestly weren’t too bad, the sheets looked clean and the mattresses weren’t uncomfortable. Didn’t feel entirely safe, as doors were slamming and people yelling throughout the night.

The rooms are lovely and the beds are comfortable. The only problwm is that the water coming out of the taps is brown. Not something I want to shower in

I had bugs in our bed. Moved. To a new room at 1 am that was not big enough to accommodate my family. Restaurant would not let us in to eat. Horrible customer service not recommended

It was terrible. Over 100 years old and looks like never renovated. The room smells and your feet stick to the floors. You can hear toilet's flushing from other rooms. Disgusting and expensive to boot!

I’ve rated it 1 star, so here are 4 things we did not like:
-the property is located in a neighbourhood that didn’t feel ideal for families, we encountered inebriated people in the parking lot upon arrival
-the room provided nothing beyond the bare minimum and was very small, not even a pillow or blanket came with the cot
-the restaurant refused to make us simple bowls of pasta, claiming that they closed their kitchen 1 hour before the actual closing time
-not accessible for families with young children or pers, for example: while standing there with all of our stuff and all of our exhausted kids… we had to wait 3 times for our turn in the slowest elevator (which was always full of random Wednesday night party-goers)
*please note that the one star is all for the friendly desk and security staff. Kudos to you.
