I would stop here again for the incredible food. The chicken curry was the best I’ve had and made from scratch. Also excellent naan and rice. I’d call ahead to order because it takes about 45 minutes to prepare. Such a treat while on the road of endless fast food or mediocre diner establishments!

Great 1-night stay. Staff were kind and helpful. My 2 dogs (65lb German shepherd and 85lb golden retriever) were welcome with a $17.50 fee per dog which was expected because I called ahead. Staff is weary of dogs so just be mindful and respectful of that, but there were no problems. Bedding was clean and tidy, the motel is older but well kept. You’ll get a travel size bottle of shampoo/conditioner on clean towels and a new bar of soap. There wasn’t hand soap in the bathroom unfortunately. Overall we had a good night sleep during our road trip. I was pleased.

The Butter Chicken was amazing. Wish we would have stopped hungry. The Owners/Staff were very sweet and friendly and accommodating. Would stay again if I’m the area. Our bed was comfy and clean. Room was clean. So hard to find a gem on the path to fish camp however we did!

I would rate experience as 3. The staff was very accommodating. The butter chicken was excellent. But room was very tired but not musty. TV service was limited. If there was internet I don’t know. They did not say and I did not want to leave the room as the bugs were terrible. No top sheet under the comforter. I was concerned as to how often the comforter was washed. Just basic accommodation.

We booked rooms 111 and 112 on July 16 2023 after seeing the "phenomenal" reviews. My sister in law and her husband were in 111 and after 5 minutes I noticed the owner walking into their room. Turns out their TV wasn't working but got it working. Some drywall was missing too. In our room however LMAO...the lamps by the beds don't work, tv doesn't work, the outlet between the beds doesn't work, they had multiple extension cords running throughout the room which ARE a hazard. However the beds were comfortable and we were given a whopping $17 off our bill for the TV not working.

This place is a 1960s style motel. The the internet and TV had to be PLUGGED IN, not such a big inconvenience? It is basic. That is where I agree with some of the recent, negative reviews. My wife and I checked in, July 11th the rates are posted on the counter. $110.00 plus tax. For a single bed. This is peak tourist season! The bed was a very comfortable. King Size. Our impression and that of a fellow travel was the place was clean. You are definitely in the Woods. Very scenic, on the river. We were conscious of the fact that if you leave the the doors open, at this time of year Flys and Mosquitoes would love to join you in your room! We sat on the very nice outdoor chairs, enjoying the scenery and company of fellow travelers. While having a few drinks. The owner joined us for conversation. (Although we offered him a drink he declined, understandably, as he is running a business! He seemed like a nice Guy!) The floor is "wood looking" vinyl flooring. (No musty carpet smell.) We would definitely try to arrange a stop here, if it worked with our travel plans! Would suggest, to the Owner, that having Microwaveable items like Burritos or Noodle soup available for travellers, such as ourselves, who didn't plan the stop have something available. There are microwaves and efficiency items in the rooms. (Stove, small fridge and Sink.) Would make it good for longer term stays, if that fit with your plans. In that case bringing some food would be imperative. I agree with Solotravellers review 2019.

This is a beautiful scenic location. The owner was very welcoming and provided great service. The place was very affordable and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We stayed here numerous times and we loved it.

Basic 1960ish motel in a scenic location. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Be sure to bring food because the nearest dining/grocery is 55 minutes to the south or 2 hours to the north. The staff very kindly microwaved the meal we had in our car and brought it to our room. Snacks are available for purchase in the office.

Access to the lake. An excellent view of the super blue moon.
