Le Belvedere is a huge converted modern family home on extensive grounds offering 9 large bedroom accommodation. We were is regular contact with our host, William, prior to our arrival and we were offered a dinner option on the evening of our arrival - which proved very useful as most restaurants in France are closed on Mondays (Leundi Fermee). William, who is also the owner, proudly showed us around the grounds and explained is ambitious plans for the future. We sincerely wish him well. Nothing was too much - just ask and William would do his best to respond. Our room was absolutely fabulous. Generously sized with a large (Queen?) bed. The view was onto the pool area and grounds beyond. The grounds themselves occupy several acres with a lovely pagoda in the garden area just behind the pool. Breakfast is an optional extra - which we opted for. Excellent French breakfast presented - cooked options available on request. Access to the property is gate controlled and you need to call to gain entry. We did not use the pool during our stay as the weather was poor - but the pool is huge with sunchairs and umbrellas around the perimeter. The Belvedere is a great base if you are visiting the Perigueux region. We would definitely return if visiting this region of France in the future. Parking available withing the grounds. Other reviews vary between glowing and derogatory and we can understand why. Le Belvédère is a charming house with extensive gardens and a lovely pool. Our room was spacious and comfortable but the shower needed fixing. The food was delicious. Our host, William, was attentive and willing. He runs the hotel with the chef who we did not meet. But only having two members of staff does not work. William has far too many tasks to complete, so guests are left waiting for inordinate lengths of time to be served drinks and meals. The relaxed, chilled atmosphere that he tries to create turns to frustration among the guests. The hotel has the potential to be an exceptional place to stay but the slow service needs to be remedied before we would rate it as more than average.

We had a lovely stay here. Felt like a retreat. Beautiful grounds and William was a great host. We had dinner the first night which was wonderful and the wine so smooth! Would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in the area. Beds were huge and very comfortable. Gardens were so pretty and well kept.

40 years old house with a serious need of new decoration and maintenance Lovely and very comfy bed however the bathroom, the light in the room, lack of proper curtains and poor room decoration does not make it right for the price Food is good but does not meet the standard for a 45 euros'meal The hospitality's rules mean that the guest should feel comfortable and not the owner. Nice pool ad nice garden

Le Belvedere is a bit tricky to find but worth persevering. William the co-owner (along with Joseph we think) was charm itself and showed us to the most delightful room. Large, and with exquisite period furniture. The dining room was a joy with some fascinating period artifacts. We had three meals there, apart from breakfasts and the food was glorious - chicken, duck and guinea fowl exquisitely cooked and presented.William was a wonderful host, spoke perfect English for us and gave us the added pleasure of a tour of the 2.4 hectare garden. The gardens are still work in progress but still interesting nevertheless. We had 4 nights here, in a large very comfortable bed with wonderful views over the gardens. Has to be seen to be believed. I'm sure if you stay here you won't regret it.

A fuir Nous ne sommes pas particulièrement difficiles et avons l habitude des chambres d hôtes Mais alors là …….. Tous les commentaires que vous pouvez voir sur Google sont faits de toutes pièces Le responsable des lieux : une plaie Il n est pas du tout professionnel Nous avons dû avec 2 autre couples nous dresser la table pour le petit dejeuner Un repas à 40euros qui ne vaut pas plus que 25 au max Le maître des lieux a toujours une bonne excuse quand quelque chose ne va pas Des restes d apéro qui traîne sur un muret, une piscine pas propre, le TPE qui traîne au son dans la salle à manger HORRIBLE

Un petit paradis Joseph le propriétaire nous à accueilli très amicalement. La chambre très confortable et immense avec vue sur le parc. Le repas du soir fait maison au top. Sans vis à vis et au calme. Nous y reviendrons au beau jours. A bientôt Romuald et Jean

Nous sommes venus dans le cadre d’un déplacement professionnel. Accueil sympathique et confort au rendez-vous. William est attentif et prévenant. Une bonne adresse avec une bonne cuisine. Tout était prêt pour notre arrivée et les consignes étaient claires pour le départ.
