Columbia River Hotel and Conference Center, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Not happy They were short staffed so we couldn’t check-in. They said they would call and no call. Customer service was poor and bathroom was dirty with hair everywhere. There was a bag chips broken up in front of the door.

quite overpriced given that no breakfast comes with a pretty basic room. parking near the highway with unsavory people walking by. would not stay again-other properties offer better value

Does not have breakfast included, this is one of the main reasons I went with this site. The first room we were given had no shower curtain in it and fire alarm was chirping in the hallway. The area around the hotel by the river has homeless people camping out and there was a lot of broken glass everywhere.

Staff was very attentive and went above and beyond. Room was very large and accommodating. The restaurant staff was very helpful and the food was very good. We could not use the pool due to weather but it looked inviting and clean. Plenty of parking and a quiet location on the edge of town. Will stay here again on our next visit.

Won’t stay again Decided to give this hotel a shot over my usual places in the Dalles. Booked a king suite with a pool view. When I checked in, I got a king suite, but with no view let alone a pool view. The gal at desk initially was very nice, but seemed annoyed when I went back down and questioned my reservation. Telling me all she had were two queens with a pool view. So I took it. No apology, no rate adjustment. I was now paying the Suite rate for a standard two queen room. The room itself had issues with the toilet flushing and it stopping, the screen door to the balcony was stuck and very hard to open or close. The restaurant, the food was decent, the staff was friendly, but they seemed to struggle if they got rushed and would ignore people who stood there waiting to be seated. It was honestly very disappointing and I will not be staying their again.

We were told that breakfast was available in the mornings, and we were also told that a Coffee place “Wasco” would also be available in the mornings. Neither were available when we came down at 7:30 am. I tried to ask, but nobody was available at the desk. When I return to my room, I messaged as a reply to a message that I received from the front desk asking for room service. I received a reply that they would be with me shortly. 10 minutes later, I received another reply, saying they would be with me shortly. To this day, I have not received a reply back. When I wanted to complain, it asked if I wanted to receive a call back, you can see in the picture that I sent asking for a callback, but never received one. The bathtub was dirty and so was the toilet. The best part about the room was the bed. The amount that I spent for two nights was way more than what I received.
