Premier Inn Colchester (A12)

Colchester A12 premier inn is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. On arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful with getting us booked in and into our room. The staff all had smiles on their faces and were very welcoming and friendly. Lucy the manager was there and was very helpful with information about things to do in Colchester. Lucy was really polite and seems like she is running the site really well. I would definitely recommend staying at this premier inn. I will be going back soon, thanks Lucy and all staff for making the stay so easy and stress free.

Had a really lovely weekend stay and plenty of Christmas shopping with the town centre being near by, accommodation was very clean and tidy, and all the staff were very helpful and friendly, had plenty of choice in the onsite pub/restaurant menu and very reasonable priced, i would thoroughly recommend.

Stayed here 1st-3rd November for the weekend whilst visiting friends. The welcome on reception was quick, polite & friendly. A fairly large hotel and there's a lot of building works going on at the minute but this didn't disturb us at all. We received an email before our stay saying some noise may be heard between 8am & 6pm but we heard nothing on this particular weekend. It looks like they're re-doing the rooms on the ground floor. Our room was clean, smelt fresh, kept a good temperature, there was plenty of hot water, clean white fluffy bath towels, lots of hanging space for our family of 3 good lighting, & we slept very well. Help yourself to extra tea, coffee, sugar & milk in reception whenever you need it & the staff were helpful when I requested some extra hand towels. We didn't try the attached restaurant/pub, so can't comment on that. We managed to get parked both nights round the back of the hotel even after arriving after 10pm both nights. There was parking in the pub car park also. Great location for us & we would stay here again. Thanks, ❤️ The Andersons

Excellent hotel with super friendly staff, shame about the restaurant attached to the hotel, closed super early, felt obliged to leave early even when you wanted a quick drink before bed. Breakfast staff were super friendly but food was awful served cold and fully of grease.

Disaster as locked out of my room. Staying two nights, went out for the day and came back and the staff have managed to mess up the lock on my door when changing the battery. So I can’t get in to my room and not even any offer of compensation. I am really angry as I can’t get in to any of my personal items in my room and stuck sitting in the poky little reception.

Room was fairly big and even had an extra bed which we did not need. However in spite of a room with a view we could not open the windows for fresh air to come in. A message claimed there was fresh air flowing through the air system but it didn't not work well as the heating and the cooling system took too long or didn't work and switched off on its own. We only stayed for one night and hoped to have a good nights sleep before a busy day the next morning but ended up with bad back and cramps as bed was not comfortable whats so ever. After a bad nights sleep the shower was not easy to control as the spray of water got everywhere as it was attached to the wall and the shower curtain was too short.
