Mkonge Hotel

We visited the hotel in order to have lunch before our flight from Tanga airport. I don't know about the rooms but the food was very averaged, the vegetables were fresh I must say, but the tempura shrimps were nothing like tempura. The best thing was the seating area facing the sea.

DO. NOT. BOOK. THIS. HOTEL. We arrived from Dar- es-salaam during the mid day, and after a long journey upon seeing the receptionist, she has had absolutely no idea of her role ( 0 welcoming skills ) . The price was way higher from what the hotel standard has. 1] The rooms have mouldy walls and smelly ( Refer to the attached pictures ) 2] The towels in the bathroom as well as the toilet seat are full of stain 3] The guard at the swimming pool chased us before the swimming pool closing hours which was mentioned 1800hrs, and we were kicked out literally at 1700hrs claiming ,," His shift was over,," 4] We ordered for a cup of tea and coffee, and were provided with burnt milk, and also they charged us for it. I'm hoping that we see something better for the breakfast... Terrible! Terrible! Terrible! Never coming back here..... :(

It was really a nice place stay there. I would say the best place in Tanzania. I had a lot of enjoy there and fun too made some new Indian friends. Picture attached. The food quality is okay for Non- Veg lovers.The rooms are too old but neat and clean. The staff are good, polite and Helpful. Special thanks Mr. Sulemani(Manager F&B). We visited Mkonge hotel for having relaxed lunch together with friends. We had a good time until we were about to leave. Coming to our vehicle we noticed that somebody had broken into the car and stolen my bag with some money and credit card that was hidden under the drivers seat. When approaching the security guard they said that they hadn’t seen anything. When approaching the the management of the hotel they didn’t want to come and see us and just talked to us on phone, trying to lecture us about the rights in the free world. We only wanted their cooperation in talking to the police and find a solution to the problem. The security company started tu accuse us for setting up a plot and to frame them for the theft. We had to go to the police on our own and the hotel management and security company were not interested in working together with us in this. Their attitude and aggressiveness is way beyond what you van expect from a hotel on this level. Please, if you want to be safe, don’t go there. If you want be treated as a fellow human with dignity, don’t go there.
