Meandering Moose Lodging

The Meandering Mouse was awesome if you are looking for a cabin out of town. The owners are great, friendly people and their dogs super fun. The property sits about 1.5 from Talkeetna which allows you Alaska space but still close to town. The cabin was clean, and comfortable. Outdated. If they advertise a stove then need to replace the stove. Refrigerator big and new. Definitely bring food and ICE. If wanting a great cabin. Remote and relax and enjoy the Moose is the Place. I would definitely go back. Good use some updates. However. Some of the adventure is the rustic. Great place.

Our host, Stacey, made the 6 adults in our party feel right at home in 2 cabins, Munchin' Moose and Snoozin' Moose. It was a highlight of our Alaskan adventure, to stay in authentic Alaskan cabins. They were SPOTLESS and furnished nicely with comfortable beds, cozy linens, rustic, frontier-style furniture, and microwave/fridge. We were offered a campfire to complete our evening, while we awaited the Northern Lights. The cabins are only 2 miles from thr historic Old Town of Talkeetna. We got our breakfast fixings at Nagley's and dinner right in town. Great place to unplug (wifi works fine), play some board games, and enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the mountains and stands of birch. Highly recommend!

Having never been to Talkeetna before, we were unsure what we were getting into while driving down gravel roads to get to the lodge. It felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, But it was a lovely property, and very close to town. The host was very nice and accommodating. We stayed in a suite (private bathroom and huge private deck). We know other people were staying there too, but never saw or heard anyone. We only stayed one night, and it was raining so we didnt get to enjoy the outdoors. If in Talkeetna again, I will stay here, and may check into the cute cabins on the property.

Stayed one night, absolutely loved it. Decided to stay another night. The owner is very friendly and the cabin is gorgeous. Absolutely no complaints. Plenty of room for the whole family. Very clean. They slso have tons of movies or games to enjoy after a busy day. I definitely recommend this place.

We along with two other couples stayed here for two nights to enjoy Talkeetna and a day trip to Denali. The Snooz'n Moose cabin was perfect for my wife and I. The other couples stayed in the lodge. The lodge is spacious and accommodating. Short walking distance to downtown. Stacey was a gracious host! When we visit again , we will definitely stay longer.

Our family recently spent 8 days in Alaska and stayed 5 different places. By far, Meandering Moose was our favorite. We had two rooms in the lodge for one night. They were spacious, comfortable, nicely decorated, clean, and had private baths. The common areas are comfortable and inviting and the kitchen is fabulous. I believe Stacey said she and her husband have remodeled/renovated most of the place. They’ve done an awesome job. They’ve thought of everything to make a stay as comfortable as possible. My only regret is we didn’t stay there longer to enjoy the amenities like the decks, fire pits, s’more kits, etc. If ever in that area again, we will stay at MML and it will be for longer! Advice if you’re planning to visit Denali NP - the summer view of Denali from Talkeetna and Denali State Park (from the south) is prettier and more interesting than when in Denali NP and Denali Village (from the north). To do it over, I would stay a couple of days at MML and explore the state and national parks from there. There’s a lot you can do in and around the Talkeetna area and Stacey will help you with suggestions and/or bookings.
