Hotel in zona Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Distretto di Takua Pa

We travelled with 3 families (6 adults and 4 kids 8-12) and stayed for 2 weeks. This was our second visit to Mai Khao Lak and we were equally as happy. Stayed in the top section (pool access jacuzzi suite). Modern, clean room with a separate living room, which doubles as a kid's room. Walk off the balcony into private spa area which joins massive swimming pool. There are no shortage of wet options with 5 pools from the beachfront area to the peaceful adults only pool area at the top of the resort. Loads of choices for bars and food. The new Thai restaurant by the beach is very comfortable with great food. At the kids pool area there is another kitchen and bar with great lunch options. The staff are always friendly and helpful. There is an hourly free shuttle bus from reception to town which is convenient, otherwise walk to the beachfront and you can get a tuk tuk (if you order through reception it will cost more!). Breakfast buffet is easy to navigate, with a huge selection of coffee / tea, fresh fruits / yoghurts, cooked food, cereal, pastries, cakes and sweets, loads of bread choices and cold cuts & cheeses. This was a big highlight for the kids and great way for us to all gather and catch up to start the day together. The beach and ocean are very nice, and the many options of beachfront bars, restaurants, laundry services and massage places are all within a 1-5 minute walk from the resort. We visited most of these during our stay and never had a bad experience. Kids club is awesome with plenty of fun and varied activities to engage the kids. If I had to fault something - the internet inside our room was poor, but in most other areas of the resort it was fine. So the 2 big questions... would we go back (a third time)? YES! and would we recommend it to friends? YES! Thanks to everyone at Mai Khao Lak for another memorable experience! See you next time!

We spent 10 nights at JW Marriott Khao Lak for our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect for our needs! An utterly beautiful hotel with clean rooms and facilities and the kindest, most helpful staff I've ever come across in a hotel. Our room was spacious and beautiful, with direct access to the 2.4km pool - this was a great feature and it felt like we had a bit of private pool whilst being able to swim all the way to the main pool. The pool also adds to the feeling that you're in a village community rather than a commercial hotel, as we made friends with our ”neighbours” and would see them from time to time when we were out swimming. The hotel's beach is clean and stunning, the sun beds are thickly padded and comfortable, and we made use of the bodyboarding and kayaking equipment on our stay. The restaurants at the hotel were incredible! The main ones are Ta-Krai (Thai), Sakura (Japanese), and Olive (Italian). Before arriving I was a bit sceptical at how authentic the restaurants would be but the hotel has ensured they've brought in the best chefs who could bring authentic cuisine to Khao Lak. The sushi at Sakura was probably the freshest and tastiest I've ever had (albeit, I've not been to Japan yet, but it's still better than all the London sushi places where we live and even better than Nobu). We loved Olive restaurant too, in particular their Sunset BBQ evening where you're spoilt for choice on meats, seafood, sides, salads, and a full-on Italian cheese and ham bar with really delicious, authentic selections. Chef Enzo there was dishing out cheeses to us and making recommendations what to pair each cheese with and was so helpful (and the cheeses were incredible). We opted for the Breakfast and Dinner package and we're really glad we did as we loved going back to those restaurants over the 10 days. For lunch we'd eat at the hotel cafes, or out at excursions, or at local restaurants adjacent to the hotel, such as Phen's (delicious!). We also bought a spa package at Quan Spa in the hotel and booked in lots of treatments throughout our stay. The spa is beautiful and the massage therapists were excellent; it's a bit pricier than outside the hotel but the spa environment is worth it for that luxe feeling (and still cheaper than in the UK!). Overall, I don't think we found and faults with our stay at JWM and we will definitely come back in the future, perhaps for our anniversaries! And we would highly recommend it to all our family and friends!

Review of Hotel Stay at Hotel Gahn Khao Lak I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Gahn Khao Lak and overall, it was a delightful experience. Here are the pros and cons of my stay: Pros: 1) Hotel Gahn Khao Lak is located in a prime spot, just a short distance away from the main tourist area. This allows for a peaceful and tranquil stay while still being conveniently close to all the attractions. 2) The hotel itself is a beautiful boutique establishment, with a charming ambiance. From the moment you step into the entrance lobby, you are greeted with antique decorations that add a touch of elegance to the surroundings. 3) One of the highlights of this hotel is the Michelin 2022 and 2023 chef who prepares authentic Nonya cuisines. This is a culinary experience not to be missed, and the restaurant is sure to leave your taste buds satisfied. 4) The hotel is surrounded by many amenities and local food options within walking distance. This makes it convenient for guests to explore and indulge in the local flavors. 5) The breakfast at Hotel Gahn Khao Lak is simple yet delicious. It offers a variety of options to suit different preferences, and it's a great way to start your day on a positive note. 6) On a hot day, the hotel's refreshing little pool is a fantastic spot to take a dip and cool off. It provides a relaxing oasis where you can unwind and enjoy the tropical surroundings. 7) The owner and staff of the hotel are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They go above and beyond to ensure that guests have a pleasant stay and are always ready to assist with any queries or requests. Cons: 1) One issue I encountered during my stay was the presence of lizards and flying pests, especially in rooms with balconies. While this may be a common occurrence in tropical settings, it can be unsettling for some guests. 2) The housekeeping service could use some improvement, particularly in terms of towel change and cleaning of used cups. It would be beneficial if these aspects were given more attention to enhance the overall cleanliness of the rooms. Rating: 8.5/10 In conclusion, Hotel Gahn Khao Lak offers a memorable stay with its good location, beautiful ambiance, authentic cuisine, and friendly staff. While there are a few areas that could be improved upon, the overall experience is highly enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a unique and charming getaway in Khao Lak.

È stato così impressionato con questo hotel 5 anni fa che siamo tornati nell'ottobre 2023 e ci hanno dato la stessa stanza che abbiamo occupato prima. Questa era una piscina d'accesso che è un dovere se si rimane qui. Le camere sono grandi con un letto massiccio e dispone di tutte le strutture che potresti desiderare. Anche se non abbiamo mangiato i nostri principali pasti nel ristorante italiano abbiamo avuto colazione che copre tutta la varietà di cibi e uova fresche cucinate e bacon su richiesta. Il personale è molto piacevole e utile, per esempio il barista Tounchai che ci ha servito quotidianamente al bar della piscina durante l'ora felice con deliziosi cocktail. La cameriera (non ricordo il suo nome) ha pulito la nostra stanza 1123 e lasciato belle creazioni sul nostro letto.L'hotel è situato a 5 minuti a piedi dalla spiaggia e vicino a molti bar e ristoranti. Il mercato di Bang Niang, che è a 2 minuti a piedi, è aperto ogni Mon, Weds, Thur e Sat che fa cibo per strada e ha molti stalle. Le acque sono molto raccomandate.

L'hotel è stato il migliore che abbiamo mai soggiornato. Le camere sono spaziose con tutti gli arredamento di alta qualità, luminosa e pulita. Colazione, c'è tutto quello che potresti voler mangiare, il pane è fresco cucinato, omelete, salate, carne, sushi la lista continua. Personale estremamente bello e così utile, sempre sorridente e salutandovi con Sawadee khrap 🙏, abbiamo trovato questo anche fuori dall'hotel, non abbiamo mai incontrato persone simili. Le piscine sono senza spot e abbondante da scegliere, spiaggia carina con abbondante letto solare & ombra. Feliz orario 3 volte al giorno, cocktail amazing Mia Tia è stato il mio preferito 🍹 La città è solo un breve passo, ci sono molte negozi, ristoranti, bellezza/massaggio & Taylor’s. Ho avuto un vestito fatto a Milano, 2nd taylor mentre cammini dall’hotel. Il taxi può essere prenotato all'hotel, ma abbiamo camminato per strada e siamo arrivati in un camion aperto e sono andati a White Sands Beach, ben valsa una gita. È molto più economico prenotare i vostri viaggi fuori dall'hotel e c'è una vasta scelta di luoghi da visitare. Abbiamo fatto James Bond un brillante giorno fuori. Tutto in tutto l'hotel è eccellente, persone carine, perfetto ambiente e non possiamo aspettare di tornare.

Un buon hotel per vivere con i bambini. Ci è un club per bambini con diverse attività. Domenica la fiera è sulla spiaggia. Viviamo in una camera a tre camere con balcone nel palazzo principale, è lontano dalla spiaggia, ristorante e, rispettivamente, una posizione più tranquilla. La sala è in piedi con una macchina del caffè illimitata e acqua di limone. Il colazione è ordinario.

Had a wonderful stay at the sands as a family of 3 . Check in was a breeze as we arrived late at night due to a cancelled flight. Room was spacious however I did not like the layout of the room bathroom being very open, bed was comfortable , no issues with cleanliness - however some mosquitoes. Breakfast buffet was ok but very busy chaotic at times , we found it a bit repetitive the food options. Our daughter had the time of life at the pool,slides and playground it kept her busy all day. We enjoyed the swim up bar the cocktails were okay too sugary we enjoyed the happy hours at different bars at the resort we did walk along the beach 2 min walk to hippie fish bar and enjoyed the cocktails there more much better quality I believe happy hr was 6 to 7 there highly recommended good vibe. The gym was well maintained everything you need. We ate dinners at spinach, thenight markets, room service was great as well. We also loved the roti and fried chicken cart . Would only recommend staying here with children not as a couple.

Leaf Oceanside entrance is probably about 50 metres from the beach. The beach itself is not one of Thailands finest. It is very rocky and has very few bars or massage facilities on the beach. The bars and massage parlours are situated on the road to town or in town itself. The resort is about 800 metres from the town. The resort gardens are mature and well kept. The room we stayed in was large and had plenty of space for clothes. However the room itself was pretty sp**** and dull in decor. Chairs and a table are located in the veranda area. The chairs are uncomfortable and perhaps loungers would be more appropriate in this area. The pool areas are fine and there is a shallow area for infants. The loungers at the pool are uncomfortable and no cushions were present. The other Leaf properties had cushions available with the loungers. The breakfast was adequate but no variety on a daily basis. Drinks and food were slightly more expensive than local bars but food portions very small. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. The external appearance of the hotel is better than the internal appearance. One small disappointment was after staying for 10 days we asked if a room could be provided for a shower as we had a later flight and had to leave our room at midday. We were offered a shower cubicle next to the toilet areas with no towels or toiletries. Only on complaining was a room in the massage complex made available. Our stay in general was acceptable but not memorable.

Il personale dell'hotel parla inglese e è molto utile. Le villa sono vecchie e date, l'accesso a Internet funziona solo dall'area comune e si dispone di un sacco di scale per salire. Ciò che questo posto sta andando per è la posizione. Si trova su una collina e ogni piccola villa sta guardando l'oceano insieme a una vegetazione tropicale che imposta un bel accento. A meno che non voglia spendere una fortuna, non c'è altro posto per battere queste viste. Tornerò.
