Beimen WOW Poshtel

I booked the female shared room. I have been to many capsule hotels, bunk beds and so on. But this might be my worst experience. 12 beds in one room, feels crowded and has some smell (you can bring luggage and shoes in the room). There's also a double bed inside the room, so there are more than 12 people in the small room. Lights out 12am so I couldn't sleep in early because there would be noise from people talking loud, showering, and using a hairdryer. All happened in that room. The only thing that I like is you can check in late (self check in), 400m to Taipei Bus Station, 50m FamilyMart. There's also a common area and kitchen, fridge, and coffee maker. Just don't choose the dorm room, you're gonna have a great experience staying here.

The location is quite good, only about 15mins away from Taipei station. The public area is comfortable and there are free tea and coffee provided 🤩

I think it's fine for a two-night stay. The only bad thing is the guests I had, I don't know if they were from the Philippines or Indonesia, who took up a lot of space. They talked as if they were alone between 11:00 pm and 1:00 am. I told them several times until they saw I was upset and shut up. I hope they improve that.

I absolutely recommend this hostel: Perks: Right in the city centre, very close to Zhongzhan MTR station. There is a shower room and a separate toilet within the bedroom! There are also more toilets and shower rooms right outside the bedroom so you never have to queue fot anything. The highlight of the hotel is the kitchen! Gorgeous, spacious, it's also a TV, sofa, resting area as well as a dining room. All in one huge space. I love that they actually have a genuine coffee machine and you can make yourself real espresso for free! Free hot water, cold water 24/7 too. The kitchen area is also very clean. I also found this hostel generally very quiet, perfect for resting. I guess it's also down to whoever is staying at the time you're staying but I guess I was lucky. The hotel also makes it clear about being respectful and being quiet after 10pm is a must. Downside: The staff are rather cold and stick to business. Especially the male staff. I heard a tourist ask one of the staff if he could do something and the staff just told him: 'no' (^～^). Not 'I'm sorry but this won't be possible' or anything as polite and cordial as this. I also asked, in Chinese, if I could take away one of the books that were on display at the library and he just replied: 'Just put it back after you read it', in a harsh tone. (^～^) I'm not sure whether this is cultural or whether these two guys are just different from the crowd. Another big no no is the double beds in the dormitories. I'd never seen double beds in a dormitory before (and I've stayed in tonnes of dorms around the world). The first night, two young girls were staying in that double bed and they were watching something funny on their phones and just laughing and chatting. It lasted a long time, I had to tell them to shut up after one attempt. I'm not sure it's a good idea to allow two people to sleep on the same bed in a dormitory. A dorm can already be noisy but then it can get out of hands (ToT). Why not share a double room in a hotel if you are lucky to be traveling with a mate?

Just stay for 1 one to waiting for my friends. Everything is soooo good and all of receptionists is excellent and friendly they will help you as much as they can. Next time when I have Solo trip I will choose to stay here! 👏🏻

Stayed here for 4 nights. Close to the MRT und Bus stations. Great place to stay at for low budget with a good standard.
