St Duthus Villa Guesthouse

This was our choice for staying in Tain so we could visit Glenmorangie and we certainly did not regret it. Our host was a fantastic lady. Not only was the room great, the breakfast tasty, but she also drove us to the distillery (so we didn't have to drive and could enjoy what it offered). Although approx a mile from the distillery back to St Duthus it was an easy walk - as recommended - avoiding the main road and cutting through the sheep field on an easily navigated path. There was bonus too - the tea room at the station nearby - which offered great food and was a recommendation from St Duthus - it was great. Scottish hospitality at its best. Would thoroughly recommend St Duthus.

Everything about this place was perfect. Check in was quick, bedroom was large with a lovely en-suite. There is a kettle with cups, coffee/tea in room. Staff were lovely at breakfast. Continental breakfast, wheetabix, granola, fresh fruit, yogurts, croissants, bread/toast, jam/honey. Plenty to keep you going for the day ahead. Nice breakfast room where other residents talked about what we had done and where we were going. A very pleasant stay for 2 nights. Off street parking for 2/3 cars or park a few yards away at the cemetery. We drove to Golspie (parked for free at furthest away car park), got the bus to Brora and walked the beach trail back, we stopped off at Dunrobin Castle on the way £15.50 each which included a falconry display at 2.30 with Andy, who had Questions and Answers afterwards at the far end of the gardens (toilets there too). A visit to Tarbet Ness Lighthouse and visited Portmahomack (saw Finn the golden retriever as featured on BBC Weather). Also an afternoon trip to Glenmorangie Whisky Distillery (recommended to book before going as our tour was full). Dornoch is a lovely village for a walk around. We would return to Duthus Villa if in the area again. Thanks 😊

Excellent accomodation, we stayed there as we were going to the Glenmorangie distillery which was only a short walk away. The guest house was gorgeous and extremely clean with amazing on suite and power shower. Everything you needed!

Really great stay, felt very welcome. The host was lovely. Rooms were very comfortable, had a great night's sleep.

Very comfortable bedroom in a traditional home that has been tastefully modernised. Breakfast options are good.

A very peaceful comfortable stay in a quiet locale, featuring the most comfortable bed! 5 stars and will be happy to recommend and return!
