Maui Palms

We stayed in the new apartment part of the resort. The room was nice - spacious and modern. Wasn't really a fan of having the TV at the head of the bed, as you could hear it in bed even with the volume down low. The AC vent is also directed at the head of the bed as well. We were on the main floor, so we were a bit concerned with privacy. There is privacy glass installed, but if you look really closely, you can still see a bit inside during the day; not sure if this is worse at night. We just kept the blinds closed the whole time. We had issues connecting to our wifi in the room. We also had problems with getting hot water. The resort staff was helpful and sent someone in to have a look right away, although we were never able to get any hot water ourselves. We had a cockroach problem in our room, found a couple our first night in the kitchen. The staff were good at addressing this and came by to spray the kitchen down the next morning. This worsened the problem as we came across many more that night in the kitchen and bathroom. The last straw was when I saw a cockroach on my daughter's toothbrush. We were then moved to the penthouse in the main part of the resort. I found the penthouse incredibly dated, and in need of repair (hardness on the tub drain prevented us from being able to drain the tub, shower base leaks, windows cracked) It is an incredibly large space, but the upstairs is wasted because there is no fan or air conditioning up there so it ends up being a sauna up there. The space is probably so under utilized which would explain the magazines from 2015 that I found up there. I think they should put air conditioning up there and perhaps convert some of that space in to more bedrooms. You also lose some of the amenities the apartment had in the penthouse such as the washing machine and dishwasher. The bed is comfortable, the shower isn't as nice as in the apartment, but at least we got hot water. Wifi signal much better than in the apartment. We only saw a couple of cockroaches in the penthouse, but we did end up having a mouse in the place too. Once again, resort staff were quick to respond. Not sure if they caught the mouse or not, but I did notice that they taped up the bottom of the doors. We had breakfast included. There isn't much variety on the menu, and I was hoping for more fruit and fresh juices. Room service is free, so that's a nice perk. There is a gym on site, I didn't go in so I can't comment on how equipped it is. There are 2 pools - one in the main resort and one at the apartment side. Not shallow enough for kids to play in though. The pools are both frequently cleaned by staff. The shoreline is not as picturesque as I was hoping, and you need water shoes, but there is lots of fish in the water and the water is fairly shallow. The coral is not very nice here. Some mosquitos, but not as bad as I thought. Avoid sitting outside at night and use mosquito repellent if sitting in the

Highly recommend. Our second stay in Maui Palms 🌴 was wonderful again, a slice of paradise on the Coral Coast. The Team go above and beyond to make you feel at home. The villas are sublime and the restaurant/food is outstanding. Without hesitation we will return.

Lovely location and well maintained resort. Pool was beautiful & good view. Service/staff polite, friendly and hard working. Close to a few other restaurant options & small supermarket. Was sadly a cool windy week but cant do much about that. July prob worst month to go if wanted heat.

Great friendly resort. We were downstairs in new part with no view & a walk along the beach or thru tennis court to get to main complex. Only an issue due to wet weather & slippery ramp to tennis court. We got breakfast included, not much variety, restaurants & supermarket locally & we ate twice at Coastal restaurant for great curries both nights. Would like to come back but would get a stand alone unit or above ground level in new wing.. awesome staff, we enjoyed the reef walk with Felix even tho we didn’t see anything much. Some fruit for breakfast or juice would have been great.

We had an unforgettable stay at Maui Palms in the beachfront apartment. The stunning ocean views from my room were breathtaking. Originally I had planned to use the kitchen but found the local supermarket poorly stocked so decided to upgrade to the full board package and it was exceptional. Every meal was a delight, with a diverse menu that catered to all tastes. The staff were incredibly attentive and made my stay incredibly relaxing. The reef walk and the snorkel tour were a highlight of our short 5 nighg stay. Highly recommend Maui Palms. We have just booked again for next year. Big thank you to all the wonderful staff.

We had 4 nights in V8, then returned a week later for 3 nights in V6. The first room V8 seemed to be in the middle of an update. The bath was amazing, and a new toilet. But the shower was a pokey corner one, with a falling off soap dish (the bottle of wash fell off and broke) and the door didn’t close. However the water was hot, the king size bed excellent and the bath towels large and soft. V6 was an upgrade, and we think was the pick of all the rooms. The double shower was open, with nice hot water again. Another good king size bed. Andie, Norman, Felix, Mei Tai and Niil were all excellent. The other staff too, were friendly and helpful, but as name badges weren’t always worn, we couldn’t remember all the names. We had a complaint in that the bed side light power point was off, and we couldn’t reach it. I reported it, and it was fixed in less than 15 minutes. The food was really good. Special mention: fresh fruit platter and yoghurt at breakfast (the vanilla yoghurt was the best I’ve had. Sadly, they didn’t have it on our second visit). The seafood platter is enormous. If you are big eaters, or there are 3 or 4 of you. Well worth ordering. The lobster was so good, we asked if we could just have it alone with salad and veg, which we got. Served by the pool. That was another great service. Although they seemed to like us to pre order our meals, we could have them served anywhere. Restaurant, pool side or in our rooms. Lovely. The reef walking was interesting, and apparently the snorkeling was good. We’d inadvertently left our gear behind, and it was a bit windy, so we didn’t snorkel.

We just had a lovely week at Maui Palms, what a great place to stay - big thank you to all the hardworking staff Neel, Andi, Lettie, Va, John and Matai for making us feel welcome and helping us during our stay with trips and local information. We stayed in a traditional Bure with a great view of the ocean. The room was most suited to a couple - they should probably make the resort adults-only. We had the platinum package including meals and the food was excellent so thanks to chefs Neel and Ben. It was a great place to relax and hopefully we will see you in two years on our next adventure.

We had a great stay at Maui Palms, the staff there are were amazing we had great fun participating in the the resort activities. We snorkelled, kayaked, hiked and went on a reef walk with 'Felix' he was great and very informative on all the fauna and flora along with the local culture. We also participated in a lovo meal which also began with a Kava ceremony, this was a great night had by all. The accommodation was fine we had everything we need in our room. The ocean view had a TV but only DVD's to play. The menu in the restaurant was good and contained some local choices which were lovey, however the beverages available were limited. Overall we had a great stay.

Lovely 3 night stay at this hotel. We stayed in one of the burres which was a great size and nice to have our own separate space. Whole resort had a sense of peace and calm, it was great to be on the beach in about 30 seconds from our room and the lagoon made for some great snorkeling! Would recommend the Fijian fish dishes
