Rosendale: hotel
Your Kingston adventure begins at this 2-bedroom cottage. The cozy space features 2 queen beds, perfect for a serene getaway. Take a few days off and head up to the lovely Hudson Valley Catskill Mountains for memorable trip. A short 90 minute drive from the George Washington Bridge. We promise you'll be rejuvenated! Who know’s, this cozy cottage just might be your new favorite little getaway! Cozy up in 1200 square feet of light filled and spacious surroundings. Wander around the mature grounds, cook and dine in the backyard by the fire pit or curl up on the couch inside for a movie then get a great night’s sleep on some very comfortable beds. Wake up to the sounds of the birds and the wind rustling in the leaves. The space has been renovated to a high standard and accompanies the 1701 dutch colonial farmhouse up the hill (this is our house where we spend some weekends) . We have an eat in kitchen with induction stove top, dishwasher and a full retro style refrigerator with freezer. (Please be aware this is a good functional compact kitchen, nothing more than that.) We also supply coffee pot (4 cup), french press, (coffee & filters supplied), pots and pans, dish ware, cutlery and a decent selection of oils and spices (evoo, salt, pepper, sugar & flour)Spacious upstairs bedroom just off of kitchen, tall floor to ceiling windows, large rustic table and a comfy bed. (Linens and towels provided).Upstairs full bathroom with shower. (Soaps & paper products provided) 1/2 bathroom on lower level as well as a dedicated workspace. High speed internet for working remotely. Washer and dryer available for guest use. Split units on both floors to keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter! The downstairs bedroom opens onto a private stone patio and garden area at the rear of the house with a firepit, charcoal grill (briquettes & utensils provided) and outdoor table & chairs. Generator on site incase of power outages. Centrally located in the historic city of Kingston, bordering the quaint town of Rosendale. Many close by trails for hiking & biking, trendy restaurants, wineries and local farmer markets. A short 10 minute drive to the Ashokan Reservoir, 20 mins to the musically famed town of Woodstock and 45 minutes to Hunter Mountain. DETAILS OF THE PROPERTY:The cottage is set on a cul de sac and is very, very private and quiet. It is the cottage that accompanies our stone house 120 feet away. These are the only 2 houses on the property. There are 7 acres of lawns and woodland and a lake ( I would not call the lake swimmable unless you're a fish) . The in-ground heated saltwater pool is surrounded by a gated bluestone patio just steps away and visible from the upstairs bedroom.(Please, NO PETS in the pool as we have a vinyl liner and paws have punctured it in the past.)The saltwater pool is heated and really quite a wonderful spot to soak up the sun. OPEN MID-MAY TO END OF SEPTEMBER ONLY.This is a cozy quirky country house, not a 5 star hotel. Our cottage is nestled in a private setting where the sights and sounds of nature are in abundance! Your personal refuge from the everyday hustle where you can rest, relax and leave feeling recharged!About pets:Pets allowed: dogs less than 50 lbs per pet (limit one pet total).About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.About smoking:Smoking is not permitted.About events:No events allowed.

Rosendale: hotel
Escape the city's hustle and unwind in the inviting embrace of The Stonemason, a beautifully renovated 1701 Dutch colonial home. Located just an hour and forty-five minutes north of NYC, this charming retreat lies nestled in the heart of the Catskills, between the picturesque towns of Kingston, Rosendale, and Stone Ridge. The property was designed and built by a team heavily involved in venerable NYC restaurant spaces including Balthazar, Pastis, Minetta Tavern and the Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn. There was a lot of attention paid to detail. The same was built using passive house techniques and is very close to carbon neutral incorporating photo voltaic panels and geothermal heat&cooling. As you drive up the pathway, you'll find yourself immersed in a serene, pastoral setting spread across 7 acres of rolling lawns and forest. Stroll up the softly illuminated stone path to the historic stone house, which boasts a mid-century modern glass addition at the back. This home has been meticulously restored, retaining its original chestnut beams, hickory floors, and limestone walls, while incorporating all the modern amenities you need for a comfortable stay.On the ground floor, you'll discover a fully-equipped, eat-in kitchen featuring stunning raspberry-swirled marble countertops, shaker cabinets, and a Bertazzoni oven—a chef’s dream for crafting delicious meals for family and friends. The adjacent sunroom, with its original stone walls and Italianate checkerboard floors, provides the perfect backdrop for entertaining, with a table that seats 10-12 people and floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of the forest and expansive grounds. After your meal, cozy up with a good book or great company in the living room around the wood-burning fireplace, the true heart of the home. Off the dining room, there's a separate TV room where kids can enjoy movies or games in their own space. After a long day, retreat to one of the four inviting bedrooms. The downstairs guest room, adorned with elements of Art Nouveau design, boasts an ensuite bathroom complete with a clawfoot soaking tub and a rainhead shower—perfect for unwinding after a day of hiking or skiing. Upstairs, discover three additional bedrooms, each exuding its own unique charm. The romantic rose-colored room offers an intimate, cozy escape, while the quirky, folk art-inspired green room adds a touch of whimsy. The main bedroom, brimming with Moroccan inspiration and antique art, features an ensuite bathroom and opens onto a sprawling rooftop terrace with breathtaking panoramic views of the property below.Back downstairs, step out from the dining room through large glass doors onto the bluestone slate patio. Here, you can enjoy a game of boules or cornhole, or fire up the propane grill for an outdoor feast. For those who prefer relaxation, wander down the lawn to the heated, salt-water pool, open from May to September. The property is powered by an impressive array of solar panels, ensuring it remains off-the-grid with a zero carbon footprint. The area offers miles of rail trail hiking and biking, top-class farm-to-table restaurants, charming shops, boutiques, orchards, and wine bars. If you’re lucky, a snowfall during your stay at The Stonemason will make it magical. We are also located roughly 40 minutes from popular ski resorts including Belleayre and Hunter Mountain.About pets:No pets allowed.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.About smoking:Smoking is not permitted.About events:No events allowed.
