This was our first time in Suzhou and we had heard a lot about Somerset through reviews and knew we would have a great time here.
Our room was upgraded, but there was an initial challenge around an additional bed, which they got it resolved in some time.
The front desk is helpful and speaks and understands some English. We found Adrianna, another colleague of hers and Kenneth very efficient and helpful with our requests.
Coco, was very helpful at the restaurant guiding us through where to find vegetarian options during our breakfast. Rooms have the amenities you would need when you come with a family.
You can't go wrong with this one!
Overall, the kids enjoyed the stay and the location is decent.

We are a family of four, booked two rooms and got upgraded to 2 suites. Great service, very helpful staff. Rooms were clean with complete facilities. We will definitely be back.

It really feel like home, this is the best hotel out of the four hotels I stay in the trip. It is value for money for this price, access to shopping, eating & place of attraction is also easy. This will be my only choice now whenever I come to Suzhou again.

Apartment-Style Hotel in a convenient location, but the payed breakfast was a huge disappointment
The hotel is located inside a nice mall, about 800m from a Line 1 Subway Station. Parking is easy, and there are StateGrid Charging stations nearby.
Our room came with a small kitchen and washing machine, which was clean and well-equipped, though a bit outdated. The beds were very comfortable, and check-in was smooth and friendly, with no issues accommodating foreign guests.
However, booking rooms with additional breakfast turned out to be a significant mistake. The breakfast room was shockingly small, chaotic, and poorly managed. Tables meant for 4-6 people were taken up by just 2 guests, leaving families like ours to sit separately. Staff made no effort to bring any order to the chaos, and it seemed like nobody was in charge of ensuring guests were seated properly. The disorganization left us frustrated and ruined what should have been a relaxing morning. This was such a disappointment, especially given how well the rest of the hotel was run.
We will stay here again, but absolutely will not be booking the breakfast. Fortunately, there are better options in the mall, like Tim Hortons, or you can prepare your own breakfast in the room.
