“The Mulino-New York” a pure Italian magical place. We arrive at the imposing Aqualina Beach and Resort, on Collins avenue. The majestic gates locked in time (and concrete) extend toward the Florida night sky. We entered the multi doors majestic hall, decorated with impressive dome ceiling and corinthien column tops, no less, and found our way to the Mulino. We were greeted by charming hostess. Everyone was all dressed up in tuxedos and white tie, and noble black dress for the ladies. The upper class image of such a place is important and demonstrates what kind of guest they entertain. There is a dress code, but as usual not unforced. The restaurant itself is in two parts, indoor and outdoor tables is a common occurrence here in Florida. The terrasse was common but the interior is very well designed. Two levels of dinning room is offered to us separated by an “Italian café style” iron railing. We were escorted to a fine table, very well dressed up, and the seating was confortable. We ordered the #MiamiSpice menu, an event that is linked to taste exploration and innovation. We took mussels as an appetiser, the filet mignon and a sea food dish, gigantic shrimps in sauce. The mussels were a pure delight with a perfumed fresh after taste of continental herbs. The texture was perfect as usually they overcook such a plate, but not this time. Also they suggested we dip Italian bred into the cooking jus, and it was awesome! The steak was purely Italian, served with a fresh tomato sauce, black olives and minced vegetables, with rosemary potatoes on the side. All these elements combined perfectly and the cooking of the meat was very good. The shrimps were presented with spinach, cream and spices. The quality is obviously there, but the plate was a little empty for such a pricy meal. We needed more, of such delicious endeavour. After that we received their signature deserts. Italian mousse of many kind, including pinacota. Not too sweet for the end of meal, but enough to be fully satisfied. The coffe was very good, a detail no Italian restaurant should ever overlook, probably a Lavazza product. I was very impressed by the quality of the service, and also buy their genuine attention to details. Something important in such a expansive environment. So I gave them a 8,8/10 ( $160.00US/ $211.70CAN/ €159,22 ) Without the wine or drinks
Molto buono
