Melia Sunny Beach All Inclusive

1st time in Bulgaria. Chose this hotel based on its reviews. Prior to travel, we contacted the hotel about a couple of questions regarding our room, allergy information and availability of juices and received a prompt informative reply which we appreciated. We are a family of 3. Tavelled with our 11 year old child. Our flight was late in the evening and therefore, arrived at the hotel just past midnight. The check in was efficient and the reception staff were pleasant and informed us about the late snacks offered to guests in the main restaurant: sandwiches and fruits with drinks. Our standard room was in block A. Room Spacious and clean with 2 single beds together and a sofa bed all set up. A nice size balcony The mini fridge in the room is empty. There are water and hot drinks machines on each floor. A supply of paper cups in the room would be useful although there are glasses in the room. On arrival in the room, we were pleasantly surprised to find a handwritten letter to us and a box of Bulgarian delight which was a very nice gesture by the hotel. Food 3 main restaurants- Nessebar (Bulgarian) in Block A, La Spiaggia del Sole Restaurant (Italian) and Estrellas Ibéricas Restaurant (Spanish) in Block C and B. Can eat in any of the main restaurants. There was also a snack pool bar with pleasant hardworking staff, open from 12 -4pm. Also a pizza station near the Italian restaurant (we think it opened from 12-5pm and then 6 pm to 9 pm). There is also an Indian Restaurant and Chinese (included in All Inclusive) - don't need fo book. And an ice cream bar. We couldn't find Weiner cafe. It is supposed to be near the Mojito bar, we think. We had lunch and dinner at the 3 main restaurants and also at the Indian restaurant. Had breakfast mainly at Nessebar main restaurant. Food overall was good with a variety of meal options. Did manage to find something to have . However, disappointed at what is available for kids and sometimes evening meals were a bit repetitive. We think especially as it is a family friendly resort and we noticed lots of kids were there that there should be a bit more kid friendly options at meal times such as - Plain Penne pasta next to tomato sauce if kids want to just have plain pasta (one or 2 of the staff at the main restaurant kindly gave our child cooked plain penne pasta when I asked but aince it wasn't mixed with sauce yet it was cold); could have cod fish fingers for kids, and would be good to have chicken nuggets on more of the days. While there we saw cheese nuggets on most of the days . One time there was spring rolls for kids and another time Calamari and 1 other evening had onion rings which isn't something we think most Kids would go for. For Breakfast- good options available, especially pancakes were popular with our child and even adults. Drinks Available in paper cups inside the restaurants and in the poolside bar. There is a list of non alcoholic cocktails and fruits juices as well available. The beer

So here's my quick review. On my last full day here. Having spent 1 week here Pros Rooms are massive. We stayed in a junior suite. Plenty of space for the 4 of us. Not entirely sure why they dont make it into seperate rooms. My kids are 12 and 10 so we it was fine for us. Air con was amazing!!! Entertainment was good. Had some good laughs. Shame it ends so early. Route 66 bar up the road is great for families after it. Drinks brilliant plenty of choice. They had aperol spritz so my wife has been happy. Food. Always something to eat, pizza was awesome. Snack bar was very good. Staff. Worked tirelessly snack bar staff are a good laugh. Entertainment team are just brilliant. Very clean hotel even though this maybe some of the worst visitors to a hotel, I've ever been to. Which leads me to my cons unfortunately. Cons I have never been anywhere before with some of the most disgusting guests in my life. People eating food, drinking cups and fag ends. Just dumped after finished. Pool tables full of half eaten food. Fag stumps and paper cups. There bins everywhere and I mean everywhere!!!! Grown adults!!! pushing in front of kids for food, this was insane. MANNERS!!!! my god would it kill some people to say please and thankyou to the staff. Even if you dont speak there language say it in your own. Thankyou - English Danke - German Grazie - Italian Bedankt - Dutch There's a cheat sheet for you!!! If you are any of the above. You are a drain on humanity. I have given this hotel 5 Stars its a great hotel and those that work there are brilliant as well. I am sorry for what you have to deal with.

Had a fantastic week in Melia Sunny Beach, the hotel is lovely, the food is great, lots of options at the Buffets, snack bars do the best burgers when Buffets are shut, Indian restaurant does a mean Chicken Yogurt 👌 Ive got to say though, it's not just the food, the customer service is spot on.... had multiple random chats with staff, from Peter one of the managers, to the bar staff, especially in block C bar 💪 The beach is 2 minutes walk although red flags were out tmdue to winds so no swimming in the sea unfortunately 😭 Its clear service with a smile is important to Melia, thanks for a great time 👌
