Very honest review Hotel *** Let me start by saying the hotel itself was OK. Our stay in general was good. The staff do not know very much English, but if you build a relationship with them, then they will try their best to assist you. The food was nice mostly, very similar each day, so did get repetitive. The AI drinks were very average, only local sports, beer and wine. The cocktails were the worst I've had at an AI. Hotel very clean, pool area always clean enough and also whilst we were there, never an issue to get a bed. Hotel is very small, but it does have everything you need really. No beach / pool towels provided, and very small plastic cups for around the pool, recommend taking your own larger cup to use, which I did and they were fine about filling it up. Only one bar, near pool, and it closes bang on 11pm, no exceptions. Nice chilled area near front of the hotel. Very close to beach, 5-10 minute stroll to Cacao beach. You pay for sunbeds and parasols on the beach, 10 levs each. Buses very easy to get, main bus stop nearby is near the bakery just 2-3 minutes down the road, and only 2 levs to get the bus to either Sinny Beach on one side, or to Nessebar the other way. If you want to know anything else that I have missed, please just ask. Excursions - Terrible options at this time of year I found. Not much to do. I would highly recommend Khan's tent, and a day trip to Nessebar old town. Eco bar was unfortunately tell already shut when we visited. Sunny beach was good for a night out. Nessebar old and new town both very very quiet, more for an evening meal. PLEASE READ!! OK, so now is the important part! The reason I gave my review a 1 star is because I left this hotel with a swollen / black eye, 3 scuff / shoe marks on my face, sand / grit still in eyes, and 2 lumps on the back of my head. Please, women, do not trust the lifeguard Stoyan. He pursued me for 10 days. Then on the very last day, we met to say goodbye and his 'wife' grabbed my hair from behind and began to kick me in the face, head, throb and kick sand in my eyes and mouth, and punch my in the back of the head. Because of how she had come behind and grabbed my hair so tight, I was unable to do anything to stop this. This totally shook me up, and ruined my experience in Bulgaria. This may be my own fault, but getting to know this man through the hotel durong my stay, i trusted him.Whatever he says, DO NOT believe him. He is a vile creature and a totally snake. He met woth me and my family several times, and constantly messaging me and talking to me around the pool. He Brough me roses, made napkin roses, bought me meals and drinks on all nights he came out with us. We dropped him off at his own home several times, and he came to the hotel and sat with us so many times at the hotel too. There was no reason for me not to trust this man, a lifeguard at a hotel. I have today sent a formal complaint to the manager of Calypso explaining every single thing from the moment I ar
