We have stayed here a few times and this has been our poorest visit, highlighting I think it being a one off. I have spoken to multiple people on the hotel team since and some parts they did really well and others sorely disappointed. The room wasn't as clean as normally they are (we use Premier Inn's a lot) we had a spider in the shower (it happens) a long dead spider. Dirty markings on the bed base and the table unit. I always take antibacterial wipes so all was easy enough to clean. They very kindly and unexpectedly gave us some money back when I raised this just in passing when talking of our other issue. The fire alarm went off, they can't help that, again it happens but afterwards our floor went to rooms and had quite a loud party. There was noone at the desk when we went to speak to them (again they would be off doing checks I imagine) and it didn't quiet down til almost 2. Fire alarm went off around midnight. They logged in my complaint it was a fire alarm issue and that I should have raised at the time the noise issues (I did and have screenshots but by this time I was so annoyed I just left it). My first phone call I was on hold 27 minutes then got cut off. The staff were lovely as always at the establishment, they have the horror channel (now legend) which always give it an edge over picking the other hotels. It is a small thing but makes us happy. Friend loves the shower, decent power & I always like the baths. Other issues, when we booked it was busy and we know this time of the year it can be, we are there for a convention. So for dinner there was a few items unavailable however they had things we liked and good value. Also very good with allergys (the person I was travelling with has a severe allergy) so that was good. The breakfast and this was another big point of annoyance and raised to which we were told it would be passed on. We went for breakfast as we were travelling home and premier inn do good breakfasts. As we sat down we were informed they didn't have multiple items available. We both said as long as they had eggs, sausages and bacon we were grand. We started the continental and the server came back to say actually we could only have one egg each as that was all they had. We had already started eating so could hardly say well we are leaving. To be charged almost £10 each for an egg, sausage (he did offer to give more sausage or bacon) , she had bacon and some toast. Had we been told at the beginning there was only one egg available each we would have left and grabbed food at our friends hotel. As we were leaving he was coming in with a few trays of eggs so even if he said he are going to get more if you want to wait. It just all round wasn't the best. I did say this is unusual and not the normal as we have always had good experiences.
