Good Morning Unfortunately, I am writing to complain about my experience at your Beaconsfield restaurant on Saturday 25th May 2024. I purchased a Groupon Voucher to treat my Aunt for her 65th Birthday. I booked to attend your Beaconsfield restaurant for a 12 course Thai menu for 2.30pm. We were held up in traffic and I called ahead and explained this to a colleague that we would be 20 minutes late, the lady said that was fine she would be able to hold the table. When we arrived at the restaurant and explained what we were there for they said oh that's not here, you need to go 7 doors down. We struggled to find the right place and I ended up going round the back of the properties where someone then showed me the correct door to use. The door was shut and it wasn't clear that this property was part of the crazy bear group. A lady then asked if she could help us and I explained why we were there and she said oh, our chefs have gone home now, they finish at 3pm. I was confused as i had spoken to a colleague at the other restaurant who said they would save the table and it wasn't an issue, i said to the lady, but i've had this booked, why would you allow me to book a table for 2.30pm, allowing us a 2 hour time slot, if your chefs finish at 3pm? she said she couldn't help. she said well, i can see if you can eat in the other restaurant, but we had booked for the thai 12 course menu. Myself and my Aunt, obviously disappointed having driven an hour to get to Beaconsfield from Oxford and then to be left without a booking, decided to have a coffee in the cafe next door whilst we figured out what else we could do, imagine my shock when that lady then proceeded to have a 'moan' about myself and my aunt to her colleague, IN FRONT OF US! to be discussed within earshot, left me shocked. I waved at her and said erm, excuse me i am still sitting right here! to which she replied, oh i wasn't talking about you. I have never been made to feel so embarrassed and belittled, the way your employee spoke to us and dealt with the situation was not satisfactory at all. I have eaten at your Stadhampton restaurant many times for special family events, and to be quite frank, if this is how much you value your customers, I won't bother again. I look forward to receiving your reply regarding this matter. and your suggestions for any resolution. In Anticipation Joanne I had sent this email and have had from response back from them.
