Stockport South

This review is in regards to the restaurant attached to the hotel only, the hotel itself is absolutely fine. Myself and a friend arrived for dinner at 7pm it took an hour and 15 minutes for a "plate of loaded nachos" and "BBQ chicken wings" to arrive in front of us, I can only describe the Nachos as a plate with a bag of Dorritos flung at it from a distance with sour cream and salsa applied as if they were trying to disguise the fact there was nachos on the plate to begin with. The chicken wings (looked more like the chef had nabbed a few local pigeons) were about 60% more bone than meat and the BBQ sauce was so acidic as to make the whole plate unpalatable. Eventually after an hour and 45 minutes the mains arrived, which were absolutely fine (although after the starters and the length of time waiting absolutely anything would have been acceptable) It would be understandable to assume that the restaurant was busy during the time we were here but i can count less than half a dozen other customers here all looking equally dejected at their meals as Myself. In summary DO NOT EAT HERE OR PAY FOR THE MEAL DEAL OPTION. You will leave sorely disappointed and probably still hungry!

I Stay regularly for work. The rooms are Really clean and inviting and I find the bed really comfy to sleep in as little rest as I get . Simple but comfortable is how I’d put it. Decent hotel for the price and handy for the area I can’t attest to the food as I rarely eat here

Very friendly, efficient staff. Standard of cleanliness excellent as was the breakfast! Room comfortable.Conveniently located near train station and for the centre of Stockport. The room was well- maintained offering a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Dont expect any toiletries, just liquid soap.

The Room was very clean upon arrival & the staff friendly & welcoming, we used the room as a base while we attended an event in Manchester and it was pleasing to find out that there is a direct bus to Manchester Piccadilly directly outside the hotel.

Breakfast was a disaster barley cooked food and arrived barley warm for £10.99 was very poor complained about food was told ill tell my manager was charged full price even though most of food was still on the plate ??? Just not enough of staff in the breakfast room one lady try to do everything herself then at reception three more staff just sat there talking.

The hotel is a little run down but is undergoing a refurb. What made it shine for me was the staff. I’ve never been somewhere where every member of staff were so friendly, helpful and accommodating. Especially Helia. I would stay again and recommend it. We stayed here to visit the PLouise Empire. It’s a 40 minute walk and 15 minutes from the train station. Thank you to all the staff. Premier Inn are lucky to have so many amazing employees ! X
