Postcard Cabins St. Francois

We love it here. We stayed once before when it was Getaway Cabins. Now it’s Postcard managed by Marriott Bonvoy. This is a perfect night away for couples, families or solo. Staff text you prior to check in to let you know the name of the cabin and access code. We got our text around 1:15pm. The cabin has all you need. There’s a small fridge perfect for a night or two. We always bring burgers and hot dogs. Firewood and starter is at the cabin. A grill is on the fire pit and they prefer you cook with foil. It’s quiet and we never hear neighboring cabins. It’s the perfect spot to unwind. Cell service is spotty so you have a forced break from social. The space in front of the cabin is small with steep rocky boundaries so small kids would need to be very careful around the fire and picnic areas. There is one restaurant nearby called the Dew Drop. Also nearby is Chateau Ste Genevieve winery - highly recommend! It’s perfect for a picnic and sitting outside for a bit. There’s a market that sells a few snack items. A gas station is on the corner at the exit off the highway.

I booked a cabin with Postcard Cabins over a month in advance for a surprise getaway with my husband. Less than 24 hours before check-in, I received a call informing me that my reservation was being canceled due to overbooking. The employee I spoke to admitted they had “gone through the list” and simply didn’t have a cabin for me. When I asked how they determined who to cancel, I was told it might’ve been as arbitrary as alphabetical order. We were already 9 hours from home when we got the news. I immediately contacted Marriott, which now owns Postcard Cabins, assuming they would assist in finding alternative accommodations—they refused. I even asked if they could help rebook us at another Marriott property nearby, and again, both Marriott and Postcard offered no support. To make matters worse, the General Manager of Postcard called the day we were supposed to check in and gave me a completely different reason for the cancellation—claiming it was due to the cabin lacking air conditioning. That explanation came a full 24 hours after the original cancellation and contradicts what their employee told me. Frankly, it felt like they were scrambling to cover their mistake. With no help from Postcard or Marriott, I had to scramble and book through VRBO at the last minute, paying over $200 more than my original reservation. The only thing Postcard offered me was an apology and a refund—hardly adequate given the stress, inconvenience, and additional cost their error caused. This experience was unacceptable, and I will not be booking with Postcard Cabins—or Marriott—again.

A peaceful retreat The cabin was beautiful and so peaceful. The cabins are spaced nicely so you almost feel like you are the only ones there until you walk the grounds. Would stay again!

This place made me look like a rockstar to my wife. I surprised her with a V day getaway. The cabin was awesome. We loved the view of nature from the large window. I made dinner reservations nearby at the weingarten vineyard. The hiking trail along the creek was fun. We ate breakfast right down the road at Kozy. For our final night I cooked steaks over the open fire
