On the day of our check in, we arrived at the hotel at 5 PM, for a check-in that was supposed to be 3 PM. Upon arriving the Front desk clerk told us that they were short staffed, and that our room was not ready. I told her not to worry and that we would return later that evening because we had to go to a sorority event with our daughter. She checked me in and gave me the room key so that I wouldn’t have to go through checking in later that evening and we left. We returned to the hotel at 1:30AM and went up to our room only to have the room key not work. I went down to the front desk clerk and told her our key wasn’t working and she scanned it again and told us we should be good. I went back up, and again, the card was not working. I went back downstairs frustrated and told her that the key was not working. She scanned it one more time and once again, the key did not work. Now very annnoyed, I went down and told her that it still wasn’t working. She checked her system and said that they gave our room to someone else and gave me a key for another room. I got our new keys, went upstairs, and walked into a filthy room. It smelled like food because there was food trash all over the kitchen and dirty Tupperware, there were pillows thrown on the couch, and no linens on the bed. I went down furious and told her & her response Was sorry we don’t have clean rooms but you’re welcome to go to the Holiday Inn up the road. I have NEVER had such an experience & won’t ever reserve here.
