Eagles Villas - Small Luxury Hotels of the World

This is an updated review following our previous stay at Eagles Villas. We had hoped for a luxury, family-friendly experience, but unfortunately, our stay left us feeling unsafe, stressed, and disappointed. The most serious concern for us was child safety. Our villa had a private pool (approx. 5ft deep), just four steps from the patio door. There were no safety barriers, and in our villa, the patio door did not lock. This meant our young child, who loves water but is not yet a confident swimmer, had unrestricted access to the pool. For us, this setup felt unsafe and unsuitable for families with small children. Because of these risks, we found ourselves constantly supervising our child, which made the stay exhausting and stressful. It did not match the relaxing, family-friendly holiday we had expected. When we raised these concerns, the response from staff did not reassure us. We personally felt that our concerns were not taken seriously, and we left with the impression that there was little willingness to address safety issues. Transfers were another disappointment. The vehicle we were provided felt old and not particularly clean, and no child seat was available for our young child. On one journey, we also noticed the driver smoking beforehand, which made the vehicle smell unpleasant. These details gave us the impression that the transfers were not up to the standard we expected of a luxury property. We were also disappointed by how our feedback was handled after our stay. The management’s response left us feeling dismissed rather than understood, which added to our overall sense of frustration. It is surprising to us that this property is listed on premium travel sites given our experience. While the villas have potential and beautiful views, based on our stay we would not recommend Eagles Villas (or Eagles Palace next door) for families, or for anyone looking for a safe and genuinely luxury experience.

We spent a week at Eagles Villas in July, staying in a two-bedroom villa with a private garden – and I can say without hesitation: it was the perfect vacation for our family. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. Every staff member we encountered was kind, warm, and professional – but a very special thanks goes to Ioanna Arvanitou, the Villas Concierge, whose attentiveness, charm, and efficiency made us feel truly cared for. What made this holiday so memorable was the combination of luxury, privacy, and genuine hospitality. We've stayed at many high-end hotels around the world, but this was the first time we felt such a consistent level of sincere friendliness and attentiveness. You can tell the staff here genuinely enjoy their work – and that makes all the difference. Contrary to some critical reviews we had read beforehand, we were very impressed with the food. Each restaurant has its own character, but our personal favourite was Lofos, with its elegant atmosphere and Italian-inspired dishes. Also, Armyra, the beachfront restaurant, offered a beautiful setting – especially in the evening when traditional Greek live music plays in the background. Pro tip: Make reservations in advance, especially if you want to secure a spot on the outdoor terrace – it’s worth it! One of the absolute highlights of our trip was the private boat tour, which we cannot recommend enough. Our captain, Vasilis, was relaxed, knowledgeable, and truly went the extra mile to create a unique and unforgettable experience on the water.In summary: Eagles Villas exceeded all our expectations. It gave us everything we look for in a holiday – peace, beauty, excellent food, and outstanding service. We're already planning our return.

Hotel is located in a cozy and quiet place, has its own sandy beach. Staff is very professional and helpful, 6 restaurants can satisfy any requirements. Food is tasty and diverse The sea is crystal clear and the beach in perfect for kids

Best cocktail experience ever! Akis was the bartender who brought us through the world of classics. He taught us stories about their origins, he made wonderful cocktails and he is a great and fun person to spend the time with. He's really knowledgeable and we felt blessed to do our experience with him! I think we couldn't have been luckier! We tried with him Negroni, margarita, Cosmopolitan and more and we would say he was a great person all over for all the length of our stay at Eagles resort.

BEWARE OF THE PLUNGE POOLS IF YOU HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN WHO ARENT ABLE SWIMMERS The view from our Junior Villa was stunning & breakfast at Lofos was amazing … however the plunge pool caused us a lot of concern. If I had known how deep it would be I wouldn’t have booked. Due to the nature of the villa we were in , 601, the pool was literally steps away from the door of the villa. The plunge pool was approx 5ft deep which left our child out of his depth in the pool. Of course as parents it’s our responsibility to monitor him, it’s just that to have that depth of water literally outside the bedroom was really stressful. Also the 5ft drop on the other side of of the pool is also a concern. We just couldn’t fully relax when at the villa. We spent most of our time at the hotel pool as since it had a shalllw end our don was safe there. We noticed on one of the larger villas a wooden fence / baby gate in front of the pool & so requested one but we were told they didn’t have any for our room, only for babies. I guess we weren’t paying enough for our son to be safe like the bigger villas. However from photos on here it seems perhaps not all the pools are as deep as the one we had. It’s clearly an older room with an older pool that’s a bit rusty in places with a green tide marks around the glass and edge of the pool. The pool only got cleaned out of bugs once during our stay, we did it the rest of the time ourselves. As others said last year it’s not truly 5 star. The food was very hit or miss - mainly a miss. The children’s menu was the same in every single restaurant & was really poor. We got re-heated chicken at least twice served up with frozen vegetables. When we tried to dine at Lofos at night the food took forever to arrive & I am so sure it gets sent up from the hotel. When it finally arrived my child’s chicken was inedible. So dry and tough. We got reheated chicken nuggets at Armyra that were so burnt & hard I almost chipped a tooth. As a review from last year says there is a terrible smell in the lobby area of the hotel. Our transfer to the villas was also not pleasant - an old car stinking of stale cigarette smoke & a driver we had to ask to slow down. The return in the hotel mini bus just as bad. No booster seat for our child, smelly driver taking corners like a race track so our child got car sick. Some of the staff were pretty off hand, there was a time during the day (5-6pm) where you can’t get any food even nachos. We weren’t on all-inclusive but every time we ordered a glass of winewe were poured the tiniest amount. We had to set up and rearrange the extra bed in our room as well. I’d have to say it’s like the comfort & safety of children don’t really matter here at Eagles Villa despite it being advertised as family friendly.
