Crazy Bear Stadhampton

Upon arrival, the lady at reception was lovely. She explained things that were local (farm shop) and explained the history of the Crazy Bear before showing us our room. Our room was the Boujee room and it was lovely and spacious. There are the odd decor marks that make it look a little bit tatty and the aircon was difficult to work and the lights were confusing. Also, our hand soap / cream wasn’t filled up. Thai Restaurant was amazing! Some of the best Thai food we have had! Overall, we enjoyed the stay!

My wife anMy wife and I stayed for one night and were genuinely blown away. The hotel itself is beautiful – very boujee, quiet, and relaxing. Our room was lovely, and the bath was absolutely incredible – perfect for unwinding. We had the 8-course tasting menu and it was easily some of the best food we’ve ever had. Every course was spot on, and the Snickers-inspired dessert was next level. We even had the chance to chat with the chef, which made it all feel extra special. The service throughout was outstanding – friendly, professional, and attentive. There’s a really nice bar, and the whole vibe of the place is ideal for couples looking for a chilled, luxurious night away. We’ve now been to both Crazy Bear locations, and both are amazing in their own ways – this one is under new management, so definitely give it a go. We’ll 100% be going back! Review of the 3 course Sunday lunch at Oak restaurant. While the starters and the mains were tasty, they were nothing special – comparable to a usual pub roast. Everyone likes their roast differently, and others may disagree, we both felt the Sunday roast was completely average. We expected more from such an impressive venue and in the end, felt a little underwhelmed by the experience. On the plus side, the service and deserts were great, and there is ample parking.

Certainly not a 5* experience. Positives: staff welcoming, good service, lovely bar area. Thai food was good. Negatives: tired room and restaurant. Basics missing from the room like USB points, fridge, a lamp (the room lights were either on or off, not very relaxing). Wet room flooded and soaked clothes. No hand soap, no dressing gowns. The hallway area was very smelly and as such felt unclean. Discussed issues at check out and was met with a shrug and a 'send an email'. Overall a disappointing experience for a special occasion.

Arrived early booked in had a quick tour of the hotel, arrived in the room it looked amazing. It was for my partners surprised 30th the staff even took decorations up for the room before we arrived. They did everything they could to make the stay memorable. They did however clean the room for us after 1 night stay and accidently took a 30th bottle with my partners name on it and threw it away, but refunded us some money so I could buy a new one. My only gripes were the water took a while to warm up and the smell going to the stairs above the pub, but that's probably due to the log burner in the pub. The room could do with a little better cleaning. The food in the oak was amazing, but the food in the Thai was even better. The prices were a bit over the top and watch out for the 13.50% service charges on food. Staff were all very friendly and made us feel welcome.

From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. We arrived early as we wanted to have lunch. Our room obviously wasn’t ready which was fine as we were t expecting it to be. We were greeted warmly and given directions to the pub area to grab lunch. When we had finished one of the reception ladies came to tell us our room was ready (it was ready early) and as we had finished eating she toon us straight to the room. She was friendly and full of information. We stayed in room 12. It was stunning. My only gripe with the room was the lack of hot water and we did struggle to get the room warm (I do like to be warm so may not be a problem for some) The room was clean and yes there was a bit of wear and tear in a couple places and in a couple of areas in the hotel itself but if you choose to see these things and make a thing of them then you are looking to be picky for the sake of it. Special mention to Oscar who looked after us at lunch and dinner. He was super fun, very knowledgeable and made our anniversary dinner a memorable one. To be fair to everyone else in the Oak, the bar area and reception they were all very welcoming, friendly, engaging and helpful I just didn’t get their names to mention them individually. The food was beautiful. We thought out and cooked to perfection. We had Thai for lunch and ate in the oak for dinner. Overall our stay was perfect. We felt relaxed, welcome and like the only people in the hotel. The service was personalised and memorable and I will definitely go back.
