I have to give this hotel the lowest rating because of the theft of my glasses. After they were stolen, my sister reminded me to put my valuables away. Thanks, Sis. We had reserved a three night stay, but the hotel manager said we only requested a two night stay. We had to pay a higher rate for the third night. Strike one. The telephone didn’t work. I went to the front desk to get a new handset cord the first night. It still didn’t work. Strike two. My spare pair of glasses were stolen off the desk during our first day out. I honestly did not think of my glasses as valuable, although it will cost over $500 to replace them. I glanced over my shoulder as I was leaving to remind myself of where I placed them. I guess I was saying goodbye to them. I asked the front desk to ask the cleaning staff if perhaps, they placed the sheets on the desk, and inadvertently picked up my glasses. No glasses found. Strike three. I wish we could say we left, but we had come to town because of a death in the family, and we had a lot to contend with, so the hotel was the last priority on our list. Our stay was extended for four more nights. Nothing on our To Do list went right. We turned up the AC to drown out the highway traffic. No complimentary coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. The stairs were swishy and squeaky, we laughed. The room was clean. The beds were not queen size as we requested on our reservation. The beds were uncomfortable, I found a good spot on the edge of the mattress. Our ice bucket handle was broken off on one side. On our way home, we stayed at a Hampton Inn. The best nights’ sleep in a week. Don’t stay here, shop around. Our local Red Roof Inn in Florida is a good one.
